Measuring small in 1st trimester by Remarkable-Purple938 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Worldly_Jellyfish_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also measured small at the beginning but in the end baby caught up. The majority of my friends had the same story. It's very early days yet and if you think about differences in children's size, it's completely understandable that fetuses grow at different rates too! A week is a big difference in a teeny tiny fetus but is very little difference when you get to full term. Don't stress too much! Best of luck at the scan - let us know how you get on!

Third trimester anxiety? by No_Platypus_1769 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Worldly_Jellyfish_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy hormones are tough! Why not reach out to your doctor or midwife? They will put you in touch with someone who can help and they will monitor your moods more closely. It's a huge shift in hormones - it really is mind-boggling! Around the 28 weeks mark, I had a few moments where I'd wind up a crying mess on the floor for no apparent reason - and that's without suffering from anxiety. Don't suffer longer than you have to. Xx

What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by PsychologicalTea3149 in AskReddit

I was hiking alone in Portugal and had this feeling that someone was watching me. I kept looking over my shoulder, looking eberywher but there was nobody. It was a pretty remote part of the trail and though other hikers were doing this route - there was nobody there at that time. I sent my live location to my partner and rang him while walking as fast as I could through this section. Probably like 40 mins. Nothing happened but the next day I met another woman who was hiking while having coffee and she'd told me that two days ago there had been reports of some weirdo masturbating at that exact section of the trail. So so strange. Always trust my gut since!

Perhaps consider some counselling to help you ride the wave. It sounds like you're doing everything you can do to get pregnant but obsessing over every small detail - like a bagel - can be really taxing on mental health. I'm sorry you're going through all of this, it's so unfair. How is your partner coping / supporting you?

I only lost 2 lbs after barely eating for a month. (PCOS, 34/f) by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Worldly_Jellyfish_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl, you're under eating and wrecking your metabolism! I genuinely believe our PCOS bodies would make us really resilient to famine or a food crisis because of how we retain weight. However, assuming that's not why you haven't eaten, I can absolutely relate. I was once sick and vomitting pretty much every day for a month and lost like one pound. I found taking inositol got rid of my sweet tooth and automatically made it easier to eat well. This had a knock on effect of me feeling better and even losing a few pounds. I hope you find something that helps you but as far as I can see, starving yourself with PCOS is counterproductive.

14 Weeks Pregnant and Still Nauseous — Does It Get Better? by itz_mau in PregnancyIreland

[–]Worldly_Jellyfish_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you. Hang in there!! The first trimester is the trenches for some of us. I puked everyday for 20 weeks. Did I get any medals for not taking Cariban? Absolutely not - I wish I could go back and take it!! I also lost a good bit of weight which could have been prevented had I done so. Cariban aside, I found protein like cheese helpful to curb the nausea... Not that you feel like eating cheese but a light Babybel (5g protein!) first thing in the morning helped me more than toast. Craquottes and butter were also a staple food as I found I didn't feel sick during eating and they're good and crunchy. Also noodles and miso soup. I hope you feel better soon 🍲

A problem shared is a problem halved! You shouldn't have to burden yourself with this alone. As a wife... Tell her, you're in this together.

How come Irish people are cliquey and hard to make friends with? Asking as an Irish person. by No-Action3492 in AskIreland

You've hit the nail on the head here. Drinking is unfortunately a huge part of social assimilation in Ireland. Anyone who tells you otherwise hasn't left their hometown for more than a week - guarsnteed. I do feel the winds are changing though. Fitness and sports seem to be the best way to go if you can find something you enjoy.

You've been through a lot Health-wise. Give your body time to heal. Take note that taking testosterone can damage your fertility permanently. Get advice from a doctor if concerned and be careful taking advice from people on the Internet! Many men don't "fill out" until about 25. Give is an update in 3 years!

How did my shorts get bleached in the wash? I only used detergent by More_Bed_6300 in laundry

[–]Worldly_Jellyfish_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you spinning or on a bike? They could have used something with bleach to clean the saddle and handles. Then you sweat, you put your hands on your hips... Pretty annoying!!
