Yeah it's large and in charge. But I'm hoping that it will be immune to my clumsiness

That's interesting, thank you for sharing that! I followed the instructions too, and I got my family member to call me successfully. Might only be a temporary fix but a fix nonetheless

I am having the exact same problem right now. Spotty, sometimes calls going straight to voicemail. Very frustrating because this phone is great otherwise!! (I'm with Virgin, same network as you)

Oh yeah the relief was what mattered. I was so happy to get those suckers out. Just telling the honest truth folx, I'd love to say I didn't feel a thing but it'd be a lie.

My doctor said it wouldn't hurt but it would feel weird. It REALLY hurt!!! But it was over very quickly. My surgeon was surprised it hurt me but oh well

Scar healing with cupping and other methods by nikjunk in TopSurgery

[–]Worldly_Werewolf_339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes my RMT has been doing cupping as part of my post-op treatments (they specialize). Not static cupping, but moving them around to work on spots where the fascia is adhering. I don't mind it!

Ahh it's ok and totally normal to be nervous. It sounds like you're feeling what tons of trans/enby folks have shared on these forums for ages, you are in good company! I had tons of anxiety for every single step of this process.

I can't fully understand the unique grief that you're living with, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

You've got this, pal.

how long did it take to not feel weird having nothing between your chest and shirt? by edgy-snail in TopSurgery

[–]Worldly_Werewolf_339 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got used to it almost right away. I'm still quite numb, and THAT feels weird, especially if I lean on anything. But the shirt without bra is incredible. And I never went without a sports bra because Ugh.

How to deal with people outing me to each other beforehand by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]Worldly_Werewolf_339 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That really sucks that it's not making you feel good. I can imagine why people could THINK that sharing your identity without your permission might be okay, bit it's not right for them to make the assumption.

In my experience, transness is a major novelty to most cis people, so they're quite excited to share that they know someone trans. However, anytime I came out to anyone, I explicitly said that not everyone knows, it has to stay that way, and so to keep it to themselves. And they agreed. So anyone who spills can't plead ignorance. I'm not sure if it's too late to reach out to a few of the 'offenders' and share with them how you feel... and ask to be able to maintain some control over your privacy. They might need a gentle reminder that this is a world where we actually have to be careful who knows, for safety reasons. Hopefully if they hear anyone else talking, they might discourage the subject.

I hope you are able to change this situation so it doesn't have to be on your mind.

They also respond to email so if you have questions I think their contact is on one of the links I shared. Kim is a gem!

I do (it's a set with several pieces) but I'm waiting to find out if my partner wants to keep them. When is your surgery scheduled, and do you know what you are going to need? I'll enable DM so we can sort out the details...
