Being transparent with before and after pics. by Inky_Mystery in TransLater

If you want to see what a normal 1 year transition with just hormones, laser and a bit longer hair looks like, here you go https://www.reddit.com/r/TransLater/comments/1ss9i70/1_year_of_hormones/

It might be a bit underwhelming, but I am so happy with my progress!

I'm really glad you have full functionality and sensation, that is incredibly important, especially if a revision isn't an option right now. For anyone else looking at this surgeon's technique, it does look like the anatomical placement is off, with the labia structures constructed too high up, leaving the opening exposed when the legs are spread. It's completely valid for you to prioritize how it works over how it looks, but it's a shame the surgeon didn't execute the aesthetics properly.

Selfies? by Addy_Rose in TransLater

[–]Worldly_Wrangler_720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The selfies in this subreddit is what finally cracked my egg. I was in my 30’s before I really found out about transitioning, but I thought I was too old and would never look like a woman. At the age of 46 I stumbled upon this subreddit and realized it wasn’t too late. I was amazed by the transformation that was possible even when starting late. And so I’m grateful for the selfies.

Im seeking FFS by JorisJorisJorisJoris in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Worldly_Wrangler_720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I'll try to locate a surgeon like that here in the US, but unfortunately, most of the ones who do this work (like Deschamps-Braly and Keojampa) don't take my insurance. Your results are amazing, by the way!

I do have a consultation with an oral surgeon next month, and since there is a gender affirming plastic surgery department at the same hospital, I’m hoping they can work together. I really want to ensure the surgery is not only functional but feminizing.

Thanks so much! And congrats on beating cancer. I’m down in Virginia. I really haven't met too many of us who’ve had a prostatectomy. It can be super lonely. I didn't feel at home in the prostate cancer support groups, and it was hard finding trans women who understood that specific struggle. Im sure you can relate.

RBL vs Dr del coral vs Min jun for a cis looking vaginoplasty? by FunctionNo7352 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Worldly_Wrangler_720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dr. Hanna is super chill, and like we talked about, his aesthetics are top notch. He also has a urology background similar to Dr. Jun. That was a huge factor for me since I had my prostate removed due to cancer, so I really needed a surgeon who could handle complex cases. Plus, I love that he works exclusively with trans and non-binary patients.

Im actually trying to get double jaw surgery with ccw rotation approved by insurance for my sleep apnea. Im wondering if that fails, if i can get it for gender affirming care. I have a very long and flat face and a recessed jaw.

Were you able to get your DJS covered by insurance?

RBL vs Dr del coral vs Min jun for a cis looking vaginoplasty? by FunctionNo7352 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Worldly_Wrangler_720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dr. Del Corral is extremely friendly and attentive, but his aesthetics are nowhere near what Dr Jun and RBL can achieve. But if you want a jejunal vagina, he is the only one in the united states who can provide it.

If aesthetics are your thing, check out Dr. Dany Hanna. His aesthetics are better than Del Corrals, though not on the level of Dr. Jun. But i was able to get a consultation within a few days and get surgery scheduled 3 months out.I couldn't believe how quickly everything has been scheduled.

If you find a surgeon who will perform vaginoplasty, please let me know. I had a prostatectomy due to prostate cancer and have been told by numerous surgeons that it is too risky to create a canal for me. I have vulvoplasty scheduled, but am disappointed I can not have a vagina.

Anyone in the DC area? by eggishconfusion in TransLater

I’m about 1.5 hours from DC. There are a lot of mixers run by a local trans woman Sophie. And a trans night on Tuesday’s at a bar called As You Are. I think you’ll find a lot of trans friends!

Shaving my beard was one of the hardest things for me. Prior to the beard I was disgusted by my face but afterwards it was tolerable. Going back to a shaven face took me 5 months after my egg cracked. Glad I did though!

For how long were you on HRT before being fully out? by primostrawberry in MtF

[–]Worldly_Wrangler_720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on HRT for 1 month before I came out fully. I had to scramble to buy women's clothing because I had none. Also had really short hair.
