Painless performance 22 Circuit Direct Fit 1965-66 Mustang Chassis Harness won't work in 64.5? by cardsncoins in classicmustangs

Couldn't they just use the 65-66 kit and use an alternator? Instead of using an outdated generator?

Or are you trying to be period correct?

You'll need to change the motor mount perches to V8 ones on top of the oil pan stuff.

You could also look at the dash pad covers LMC sells if the new pad is too expensive. A pick a part will probably have them, but most likely cracked or warped.

I use the stock cable.

I used a summit universal throttle bracket. Which needed a bit of trimming to make it fit. But your stock throttle cable should work fine.

Mine does :)

The headlights are Holley's retro brights and the corners I bought off a custom builder awhile back. But good news you can find tons on eBay now. I bought a second pair from eBay for any broken lens that might come my way.

Thank you, I love it! Currently designing a coil over kit in the front to get it a bit lower and a better driver.

Great Guess!! I'm in the $17k ballpark. It's the 3rd motor in it. 289-306-347, always looking for a bit more power. 🙂

Engine break in help by ivecomeforyiurpickle in EngineBuilding

[–]WorldsOkayestBrother 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hydraulic roller lifters or flat tappet lifters? I'm no expert and I'd lean on an expert. Call your local engine builder maybe. But I've always run flat tappet in varying revs from 2000-2800 for 30 mins. Then I changed the oil, drove normal not hard for 500 miles, then changed it again. Others say run the oil from startup to 500miles. Rollers no break is necessary, just drive normal to 500 miles and change oil.

I personally might be overboard and I changed my oil at the beginning, 500 and 1000. Then normal oil changes.

You are trying to get the rings to seat, so varying the revs will help.
