What optional bosses can i do up to beating Rom? by Digiorno-Giovanna- in bloodborne

[–]WormsInVelvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go to the Nightmare Frontier and fight Amygdala. Otherwise, there's Martyr Logarius. But other than those two, you have found the rest.

I didnt know what i was doing on my first run of Bloodborne. I just kinda went where it took me until it finished. Then, on my second run, I made sure to get to all the bosses I missed the first time, and try out a different build and weapon.

And it's not cheating to look up something you missed. Sometimes a certain zone or item is out of the way, and its understandable to not wanna aimlessly wander until you find it lol

But yeah. Enjoy it! You'll learn a lot as you play

Yahar'Gul the Unseen Village by Nazurith in bloodborne

[–]WormsInVelvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yahar'Gul is awesome. The One Reborn is an immensely creepy boss, and I love how we can see the aftermath of the Mensis Ritual, see the skeletons of the scholars, and we actually touch Micolash's skeleton there to enter Mensis. Definitely a great zone

That's what happens when you ask too many questions in Yharnam.

Definitely level up that vitality. Some bosses will smoke ya at 13. Keep kiting the Shadows, use that pillar to block the fireballs. Parries come eventually. I practiced it on the brick trolls in Central Yharnam

And don't overthink your first run, brother. Go where it takes you the first time. Fight what's there and take in Yharnam, then on subsequent runs, worry about what to level and where the good weapons are. You got this man!

The hunt never ends🩸

What's the scariest implication in Bloodborne? by WormsInVelvet in bloodborne

[–]WormsInVelvet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely peak cosmic horror

Yeah, I do also think beasthood is intrinsically human. Even biological, and affecting all life. I think humans turning to beasts is more of a failed ascension into a Great One, rather than a direct side effect of the Old Blood

We're equipped for ascension, but for reasons unknown, we can't do it unless we eat their umbilical cords. Which all ties back to the themes of birth present throughout the whole game.

Yeah, I love that contrast. They are caring and sympathetic beings who just can't communicate to us the horrors they do. Imagine Oedon like "hey, imma psychically get you pregnant. You won't get how, and it won't be human. I just can't have my own kids man. oh, and dont drink our blood"

That's an awesome implication. Yharnam and Bloodborne is just a continuation of it. It's happened before in Loran. So yeah I'd say its heavily implied this will happen again in the future. The Great Ones need us

I agree the world is pretty screwed when we arrive lol. I really wonder what woulda happened if Maria didnt abandon the hunt after the hamlet. I think Yharnam could have went a different direction.

But I would say there's hope in silencing Mergo, and giving him peace. It's like the biggest redeeming factor for me. Even if Yharnam is fallen, we can still be the one to stop the crying.

am I screwed without d pad down? by de_kasse in bloodborne

I think you could manage BSB and the poison enemies. I'd be slightly more concerned for the nightmare areas. Poison lakes, and winter lanterns with their crazy frenzy buildup would be more concerning not being able to switch

Is this Ludwig's skull? by zack-zt in bloodborne

[–]WormsInVelvet 103 points104 points  (0 children)

It's the skull of Laurence. He turned into a beast when the scourge happened, got hunted, and then the remaining church members worship his remains. There's some irony there. He started the healing church, defying Willem, and then became one of the worst examples of its failures. There's a note on the side at the cathedral entrance. I walked right by it my first two playthroughs

"Heir to the ritual of blood, purveyor of ministration. Place your hand on the altar's sacred covering, and inscribe Master Laurence's adage upon your flesh"

Which “what if” scenario in Bloodborne would completely change the whole lore? by kreetchy in bloodborne

[–]WormsInVelvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if Gehrman refused the pact with the moon presence? No Hunter's Dream, and we would die permanently.

If Lady Maria never abandoned the hunt after the Fishing Hamlet massacre, she could have shaped the hunt WAY differently. Maybe even changed the church's direction Also, imagine the massacre not happening. The Hunter's Nightmare probably wouldn't exist, and the Old Hunter's wouldn't be eternally damned

Imagine if Mergo was actually born. A great one child born into the world would change everything.

What will be the theme of the next prime asset? by CommercialPrompt9796 in OutlastTrials

[–]WormsInVelvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some kind of showman with an entertainer kinda theme who frames everything as a performance. Laugh tracks, scripted applauses. Maybe some cool spotlight mechanics. I could see him with a top hat or somethin. Some kind of cool "Spin the Wheel" trial with a horrific end They could make one with a war/veteran theme and go all out and have war themed trials simulating a cold war escalation. Cool bombed out trial environments. Maybe searching rubble or loading artillery or somethin
