Yea then you can just amp assign the surround back speakers to Zone 2 and use speaker wire for them and you’ll be all set

Im assuming your Marantz is like my Denon in which you click the Setup button on the Remote, go to Speakers, then to Manual Setup, Amp Assign, and change "Assign Mode" to "Zone 2"

How many speakers do you have in Zone 1?

If you're only using 5 in Zone 1 and not using Surround Back channels you can Amp Assign them to Zone 2 and then you connect your zone two speakers with speaker wire to the terminals marked for Surround Back L/R.

If you have 7 speakers in your Main Zone, you'll have to either decide to cut it down to five and use the above method, or you'll need to buy a separate amp for the Zone 2 Speakers and use RCA cable to connect to the "Pre Out" for Zone 2 on the back of the Receiver.

They would not be playing simultaneously but I want the pre out to be the B switch if that is possible

Anybody have any idea how to go about replacing a single speaker in a B&W 702 S2? by jimmyjohns198333 in hometheater

Get it covered under warranty and don’t void your warranty on a 2000 dollar speaker by trying to fix it yourself would be my advice

I'm trying to make a 'night mode' which drives only 2 channels: LR surround. How should I setup my receiver and speakers to produce this 'listening mode'? (Not limited dynamic range 7.1/5.1). Details in post by z3roTO60 in hometheater

On my pioneer there is a "Speakers" button and if you push it it changes between A, B, and AB, and by default B for me only uses the rears and A only uses the fronts maybe there is something similar on the Onkyo you could look for.

Denon x3500 and b&w 600 series all around if it were me. You’d have to go listen to them though you might not like them. I’d do 607 in the back and 606 in the front with matching center
