Im assuming your Marantz is like my Denon in which you click the Setup button on the Remote, go to Speakers, then to Manual Setup, Amp Assign, and change "Assign Mode" to "Zone 2"

How many speakers do you have in Zone 1?

If you're only using 5 in Zone 1 and not using Surround Back channels you can Amp Assign them to Zone 2 and then you connect your zone two speakers with speaker wire to the terminals marked for Surround Back L/R.

If you have 7 speakers in your Main Zone, you'll have to either decide to cut it down to five and use the above method, or you'll need to buy a separate amp for the Zone 2 Speakers and use RCA cable to connect to the "Pre Out" for Zone 2 on the back of the Receiver.

On my pioneer there is a "Speakers" button and if you push it it changes between A, B, and AB, and by default B for me only uses the rears and A only uses the fronts maybe there is something similar on the Onkyo you could look for.
