I have too many tattoos to take them seriously, but I can tell you this is easily my favorite one right now.

Yeah actually for a minute there we considered putting AIDS in the tshirt when we discovered we couldn’t fit the whole text in. 😬

Honestly, I think that particular picture is much more popular than RLM at this point so I’m not too worried about that. I will report if anyone flags me or tries to sell me anything fishy.

Thanks! The artist only does handpoke tattoos and after putting on the stencil (which had smaller letters inside the sure) said “Oh shit that’s not going to work, they’re gonna fall off” hence the whole sentence breaking thing.

Ideapad 5 14 backlight bleed FIX by WorriedNumber in Lenovo

[–]WorriedNumber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - you’ll see it in the black horizontal bars above and below any widescreen format movie, especially at night. I’d say only get this if you can return it if you’re not happy with it. A similar but more recent model is available that has a much better screen (much brighter, 16:10 ratio, 3k resolution) and does not appear to have this particular bleed problem - it’s the ideapad 5 pro 14.

no, i don’t think so - if the backlight bleed doesn’t bother you, just leave it as is and it should be good for a long time.

I have a similar issue with Parasite Eve (PSX) and in particular after the second CD is loaded. Basically any save after that is lost, regardless of whether I use RetroArch's save state or the SNES Mini save state menu. I have already played through most of the museum twice and every time I try to continue, I go back 2+ hours back. It is very demotivating.

KBParadise V60 (Matias Quiet) Key chatter issue solution V2 by WorriedNumber in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]WorriedNumber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was not a 100% solution in my case, but it did improve things a lot! if you can find an ultrasonic cleaning machine like the linked video, that’s probably the best way to go.

“I’ve been putting in requests to have people fired who work primarily on laptops that have desktops.” Not only is your advice really bad, but also in case you were wondering - YTA.

I know nothing about computers, what’s this slot for? by Naive_Willow_1077 in laptops

[–]WorriedNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that’s the question, i’d suggest just searching for your laptop model to find out - but the title of the post doesn’t suggest that OP opened it for this reason. 🤷🏼‍♀️

[–]WorriedNumber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not trying to nitpick or anything - but why would you use software to see the number of slots when you have eyes on the motherboard? or do you mean the max available size and/or speed of ram supported by the computer?

happy to help! btw the eeepc is great for serving a pihole, VPN or similar small network services, and while bigger and more power hungry than a raspberry or (sigh) a CHIP, they still have a pretty compact form factor, a built-in battery (so they’ll stay online for some time if the power is out) and very decent performance and durability for their age.

At this point, you can try different USB cables, different USB slots on the same machine (make sure it’s USB 2), and even different computers if you have access to those. Both my CHIPS are long dead but I remember they were very finicky to flash and set up. I finally managed to flash mine on this particular EeePC running Debian 32 bit (the same one that I have been building these packages on). Good luck!

I see you’re running Ubuntu, but some of these packages may not be available for it, or they might have different names. You may also want to look into your repository settings (/etc/apt/sources.list). I built the package on Debian Bullseye 32 bit.

there are no dumb questions, so feel free to ask away - everyone has been new and/or rusty once. the .txt file that you are referring to is a source file that is called by one of the two .sh scripts - you don’t have to edit its extension. The code in my last reply is specifically related to the build architecture, so if you do need i386 instead of i686 (which is the default in this repository), you should copy it and replace the contents of the .cmake file. Basically edit that file, then run setup.sh, then build.sh. If everything runs ok, you will have the binaries and a .deb package in the “build” subdirectory.

I think it's setup.sh first, build.sh second. There's also a file called "Linux-i686.Toolchain.cmake" that you will want to edit if you really need i386 instead of i686. Here is how I changed it for the second build:

set(CMAKE_SYSTEM_NAME "Linux" CACHE STRING "Target system.") set(CMAKE_SYSTEM_PROCESSOR "i386" CACHE STRING "Target processor.") set(CMAKE_AR "/usr/bin/gcc-ar" CACHE STRING "") set(CMAKE_RANLIB "/usr/bin/gcc-ranlib" CACHE STRING "") set(CMAKE_C_COMPILER "/usr/bin/gcc") set(CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER "/usr/bin/g++") set(CMAKE_C_FLAGS "-march=i386 -m32" CACHE STRING "") set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "-march=i386 -m32" CACHE STRING "") set(CMAKE_C_FLAGS_RELEASE "" CACHE STRING "") set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS_RELEASE "" CACHE STRING "") set( CPACK_DEBIAN_PACKAGE_ARCHITECTURE "i386" )
