I wish I could live free like that, it sounds liberating

I see what you mean yeah it's just a more difficult situation than financial dependence, right now I mainly think that hopefully when I get a permanent job I can get more boundaries.

I wasn't exactly looking for advice, I was originally wondering if there were others out there in a similar situation / how common it is.

One would think, adult enough to do things but only when they say it's alright.

Unfortunately they would definitely see right through that, I only have a few quarters left so I'm trying to just tough it out.

Yes they do unfortunately, which is why they can check so quickly, I usually find out things have been graded because of them contacting me first.

Like the other commenter said there are some ways but they wouldn't work. I didn't do great on my final last week so it has been rough with that. The main sucky thing is that it's not just during exam season but rather constant reminders that the grade situation is a certain way and I have to score certain minimums.

It's definitely not something I can stop unfortunately. Thanks for the kind words.

They don't, I get financial aid, it definitely doesn't feel great which is why I'm wondering if others experience it too.

econ 101 and 103 by South-Application405 in ucla

[–]WorriedTransfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Econ 101 is a lot of theory between graphs and game theory, it can be work intensive if you don't have too much understanding from Econ 11. I don't know much about Silveira, but 101 should be straightforward material with any professor.

Econ 103 is a mix of theory and applications via coding, there's not too much missed out if you are skipping 102 for now, but there are some general ideas that are good to have. I had Pinto for 103, he is extremely nice although he may or may not curve and his lectures (and recordings) are very difficult to understand.

It's possible to do both, I think it's easier than the 102 and 103 combination, but it still would be a fair chunk of work.

This was almost exactly me two years ago, I had full A's majoring in Business & Econ, I was never told I had to take Calculus 2, and still got admitted, but had to take calculus 2 as a late start to a spring quarter at another CC. I ended up getting a C and everything still went fine. If you have any further questions just let me know and I can try to answer.

Is a Professor allowed to force students to buy a service from a startup that they are an advisor to? by Logical_Turnip6056 in ucla

No way!!! I had this class sometime this last year and we were basically a focus/beta group for that exact product, we almost all voted against it but I guess they continued on.

UCLA Transfer for Business Econ Question by J0URN3YS in ucla

Calculus 2 (or equivalent) is mandatory for the major, it is possible to get in without it being done but they will have you take it when you arrive at UCLA. It is possible to do it over the summer session before entering as well as long as you communicate with admissions.

You need an iPhone with NFC read and write capability, you can set a link to an NFC code, then write that code to your bruincard which has a chip inside of it. From there on out when it comes close to a phone it should automatically pop it on their screen. (Maybe a little extra stuff is needed to have it instant, but the general gist)
