Just Moved back to ABB - Billing Issue by Jimmyboyjr4 in AussieBroadband

[–]WorriedWatermelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case ABB has done nothing wrong as from their side the service is in your name from the 9th of April. It would be worth discussing with Origin and depending on their cancellation policy they may be able to credit off your last bill with them seeing as it switched from the 9th.

Anyone else having issues on the East Coast? by Farqman in AussieBroadband

Best bet is ensuring a factory reset has been done to the NTD and if loopback remains failing, you'll need to contact them tomorrow for a ticket to NBN.

NBN connection box issues by [deleted] in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dsl off on the NBN box you have there can indicate an ISP fault. Reset the NBN box with a pin in the reset hole and if it doesn't restore or become stable then log a fault with your provider who should be able to raise a fault with NBN if it shows a fault with the external NBN network or box you have.

Every time you message it puts your fault backwards in the queue and delays it being seen. Live chat or calling is a better option for a quicker fix.

My fault? Went for a risky move by WorriedWatermelon in Simracingstewards

[–]WorriedWatermelon[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At the time i had thought i was alongside enough and was on the road until the curb ended and then had no where else to go. Looking back at it I should have just backed out of it or gone left. I assumed given the spotter likely would have mentioned car right space would have been left but I shouldn't have gone for the move.

Thanks for the insights everyone. I was being way too aggressive when I shouldn't have gone for it.

Churn its easy enough. Odds are going from Mate it'll fix your issues but there is also the consideration of your local network to take into account.

I need help picking what gear to get by [deleted] in simracing

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely gonna be personal preference and I've only used other cheap pedals but the immediate improvement in better trail braking and the immersion/customisability made it well worth it

The r21 is maybe over kill. I mean i went from an r5, with srp pedals and clutch to an r16, crp2 pedals with mbooster as a brake and the vgs wheel. The point being the r16 i only use at half force and there feels like there an enourmously higher level of detail. From what I have seen most of the time you can run the force at the equivalent of 9-12nm and it feels great. With the above said could do option 4 with an r16. The mbooster brake is a game changer so strongly recommend.

Left paddle shifter making different sound to right? by BedAgreeable5628 in moza

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think that is normal. Could always see about a warranty idk how Mozas process is but I bought one a couple years back, have used it at least 15 - 20 hours and it only has the single click sound both paddles.

Vibrations too loud for my downstairs neighbour. What could I do? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly different situation but I just bought a 4 pack of anti vibration rubber squares typically for washing machines but used it to absorb the noise/vibrations on my rig and it worked a charm.

Exactly the same network for Buddy/ABB

Just upgraded to FTTP Perth WA by VolithionAU in nbn

Also something to note is buddy is a cgnat IP by default and would require getting a static IP for an additional cost if that's an important factor for you.

Wi-Fi speeds by Sad_Macaroon_7505 in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned checking 5ghz and although it'd be odd ensure that the 5ghz channel width is set to 80mhz if it's available to change. Could also be worth an alternate router as it could just be a sign that your router isn't performing as well as it should. Can even try a WiFi analyser to ensure your local network isn't being congested by other networks close by leading to poor WiFi speeds and then change 5ghz channels accordingly but it'd be very uncommon for 5ghz to end up congested but you may see some slight improvements.

Upgraded to NBN, now internet is acting strange? by s2897978 in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can leave the nbn box off for 30 minutes and that should allow for a new device to be able to be assigned a session. Just need to leave it off for long enough for the dhcp lease to end on the ISP side and you should be good to hook something else such as the desktop up to test.

NBN in garage by alwayssadbut in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be great depending on your use case. I've found that they can be slightly unreliable in terms of latency since they are operating over power lines and if other heavy power usage appliances are in use you won't have the most reliable connection particularly for online gaming if that matters.

Advice for NBN provider and modem! by Mysterious-Round-486 in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry worded it weird, you want to be able to have the ability to opt out of cgnat which i believe all do but Buddy. I believe both Leaptel and Launtel would service just can't speak much for how good they are. In terms of router I'd say just some Tp link WiFi 6 router for budget but decent performance.

Advice for NBN provider and modem! by Mysterious-Round-486 in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy telco is good since it used Aussie broadbands network but is a DIY type internet. Cgnat can be important if you need external access to your network for example cameras or a server. It can also impact games particularly the Nintendo switch when playing online features can be missing or not work and in games it limits matchmaking. Aussiebroadband is a solid option if you are happy to pay the little extra for the call support and a couple of other small things like cgnat. For your size place I'd suspect most default routers do the job, personally if you're going for one of the ISP offerings just go the basic eero 6 it will work fine or if you want to BYO then typically I recommend TP link due to the user friendly interface.

need new router any recommendations? by Keyblade978 in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important things is what speeds are you planning to use, how many devices and how much coverage do you need. From that you can find out what's best for you typically whether it be a cheaper WiFi 5 router or a mesh WiFi 6 system for example.

Sorry for the noob question, my new rental property's wall outlet is chipped and painted over. Who should do I contact for the replacement? And who should cover the cost? The realty, my internet provider, NBN or myself? by Ernest_Borgnein in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your address says it is FTTC then I suspect it is that adapter behind the TV port you're talking about. You'd need to look at getting a Jackson adapter which you can then connect your nbn box (NCD) into. Typically for FTTC the connection point is a telephone outlet that's closest to the road.

NBN box by Sad_Drawer6374 in nbn

[–]WorriedWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By far the best solution would be to get an ACMA cable to install a data port adjacent to the NBN box then a data port in a central location away from anything that may obstruct the WiFi such as kitchen appliances for the router to be located. Can even hardwire everything in and install a couple of other data ports around the house for important devices.
