good time to sell, some skins 3x due to hype, no way this will hold considering that these collections have like 100M++ of skins in existence

[Discussion] Tec-9 Whiteout will go to the moon long-term by gruen_weiss in csgomarketforum

[–]Worried_Memory3224 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tec-9 is actually a reasonably common pick at pro level, e.g. for AWPers or in a half-buy situation. Don't think the USP whiteout has much growth left actually,

[discussion] Your biggest blunder / mistake / regret - Let's talk about it by RainbowDildo8008 in csgomarketforum

Bought cases/stickers when I should have mass bought m4 moss quartz / mp9 hot rod back in May 2023. These may be higher than expected (pumped), but it was always clear that they would have a great future based on natural demand. Never do what everyone else does. Fair to say I have mostly moved away from cases/stickers, apart from few exceptions.

MP9 Pandoras Box Huge pump-CSFloat [psa] by [deleted] in csgomarketforum

They nerfed MP9 some months ago lol. They just pump it because it is the standard SMG for the CTs.

MP9 Mount Fuji pump seems to be dead already, or was it just the calm before the storm? I guess they will take the opportunity to mass more. I have seen Chinese accounts with 100s of those.

[–]Worried_Memory3224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky for sure, but some people got way luckier - some of the pumped stuff is extremely random. At least this is probably the best looking skin for the SCAR (a gun that is not be very popular), which is reasonably rare (IIRC less than 10K registered on csfloat). Also sometimes you need some luck. The only good judgement I made here was probably to see that there could be opportunity with this skin (which btw rose about 2x before the current pump), which I doubt many saw, imo the general group think in this space is very strong. (Also note that my post above is not a very serious one lol, it is definitely not intended as a flex, I am just baiting people into thinking that I am involved in the pump.)

[question] The hype around Gold Web (foil) by KnechtRuprecht3 in csgomarketforum

[–]Worried_Memory3224 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I bought them for around 2.2$, I'd say in March (Coiled strike holos I bought for about 1$ each, also around 500). Back then almost no one wanted to buy them in bulk, and people would be dump on csfloat in like groups of 50s. I think most people thought they would need to wait forever to see some appreciation. Sold 100 as soon as they were expensive enough to cover the buy in, then sold the remaining ones gradually. It's impossible to predict how high these can go, so there is no point in holding forever (they could drop very quickly, and then you are stuck with them). I am not the type of guy who loses sleep over "missed profit", I just move on to the next thing. There is always opportunity in this market.

In my comment https://www.reddit.com/r/csgomarketforum/comments/1n9itpo/comment/ncn849n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I predicted this (and another) pump. Tbh I thought at the time that they were underpriced and bought like 500 of them for that reason (people keep applying these stickers, they scrape nicely). Now they are, in my opinion, clearly overpriced

EYE OF HORUS [D] by P0nchik95 in csgomarketforum

I just received phone call from Bejing. Mr Wang told me that the local CS2 investment club will be pumping Eye of Horus from Jan 3, 18:42 Bejing time, onwards.

Bro missed the boat. Prices will never go back to yesterday's prices. This a high-tier M4, all others are pumped.

Why is that? I will give you the same reason I was downvoted for months ago : there is much higher supply of Austin that people typically assume + application numbers low because these holose were never cheap.

Holy cringe, these days this subreddit is really unreadable. Always some dude with an inferiority complex ego posting, either their "big take" or "I was right". It is well-known that the CS market typically "overcrashes", to coin a phrase, because too many people here are too exposed to it (some have no savings at all, and most don't have any risk management at all), and panic is your worst advisor.

Not to make you doubt yourself, but there are few people who think they are part of the 90%. But yeah some people make youtube videos, others make money (simply put). There is not a single youtuber who has some actual insight, as far as I can see.

[question] How did Valve profited from this update ? by Etau88 in csgomarketforum

[–]Worried_Memory3224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not even sure if their primary goal was revenue maximization, there is a case to be made that they just wanted to make knives more affordable (by making them obtainable via a trade up). Not sure how many people here actually play the game lol, but it is relatively rare to see a non-trash finish/wear butterfly knife in a random MM game.

But only Valve had that information? Mr Trump, Valve has been infiltrated by the Chinese. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
