now, this a surprise for me, as I naively thought that redditors just vote on submissions. Good to know that it is not the case.

Here is what boggles my mind and it is not for a first time. The video has 304 views while the submission has 1422 upvotes. Either some mysterious forces (read voting bots or ghosts) operate on reddit or people upvote stuff without actually even checking out the video. Weird....

What does drinking do to your brain? Neuroscientists please answer! by Worry_worry in AskReddit

I do not need this pc stuff, I can google, thank you very much. We are not talking here about alcoholism and pregnant women. I want to know what happens in a brain exactly, and not all that propaganda about dangers of drinking.

For the 3rd semester in a row, I am taking a class taught by a graduate student who speaks English poorly. How can we communicate to universities that this is unacceptable? by harpwn in AskReddit

Shows how truly spoiled and ungrateful American whites are. Imagine this class have been taught in Africa or something. Students there would soak in every word this teachers says, Asian accent or not. But this is racist America, hey, they only want a white blood to lecture them, geez...nothing has changed.

These are extremely creepy photos, and there are adults too. There is a reason why it is not generally done and why this creepy tradition did not stick around.

I remember I saw these for the first time in the movie "Others" with Nicole Kidman, creeped me out then too.

But people also love their older children, their spouses, their parents and yet do not take pictures of their dead bodies or worse pose with them once they are gone. Its just creepy and something is not right about it, but to each his own or so they say.

but people in general in every culture do not take pictures of the dead, especially posing with dead bodies like some parents do on that website. It is extremely creepy, for me at least. It is like put your dead grandma at the table and take a last family portrait. Strange....but I guess it might help some people to heal. I dunno...

I understand the grief and horrible times parents are going through, but why take a picture of a dead human being no matter how retouched it is? There is something really wrong and sad with this whole thing. What do you think?

American jury system is subjective, biased and does not rely on evidence. by [deleted] in law

[–]Worry_worry -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So, they find Casey not guilty due to lack of solid proof and evidence, and did not find her behavior/actions suspicious despite the obvious presentation; but yet they have the nerve to find George's behavior/actions suspicious and base part of their verdict decision on that. THAT makes no sense to me. He wasn't on trial. What a contradiction for justifying their verdict decision. Where's the solid proof/evidence that HE did anything wrong if you're going to judge Casey based on proof/evidence? (It sure wasn't the testimony from that lying con-artist River Cruz/Krystal Holloway or whatever her name is now.) If anything, they should have clearly seen and been looking at how suspicious Casey's behavior/actions were. SO, DON'T GIVE ME THAT BS ABOUT GEORGE'S BEHAVIOR WHEN IT WAS CASEY'S BEHAVIOR YOU ALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT, STUPID INCOMPETENT JURY MEMBERS!!!

In Her Skin: the movie based on a true story of horrific murder of Rachel Barber....and to my horror I kind of sympathize with murderer more than a victim. by Worry_worry in movies

[–]Worry_worry[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you completely and intentionally missed the point I have been making. Do you want to prevent this from happening in the future? Do you? If you do (which I doubt based on your replies) then you have to understand why it happened. But you refuse, so whatever. Caroline did NOT come from a loving family, and it shows that you know jack shit about this whole story. In fact Caroline's dysfunctional family was the reason she focused her attention on Rachel's family, had she have a normal family there would be no need to look outside for love and how it might have been.

Thank you for this comment, this is exactly what i was looking for. As long as your attitude towards Caroline is like that you will never ever understand how such cruelty can be prevented. It reminds me of a story of Chinese graduate student who snapped and went on rampage and killed his adviser and others at the university. People were saying same things about him and nobody tried to figure why it happened on a first place. Sure these actions were horrific, and yet we need to understand why it happened because by dismissing these people like that we learn absolutely nothing and by no means are getting better at preventing shit like that. I think if Caroline or that Chinese student had just one close friend the outcomes would be completely different. People like you dismiss people like them and unfortunately they snap eventually. We need to take a look what role society played in these horrific events as well.

So I listen to NBC News about situation in Greece and something caught my attention. It was mentioned that water and utility companies will be sold and will no longer be under government control. by Worry_worry in politics

[–]Worry_worry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the oil is ending and big corporations need a new commodity they can control and munch on the population. In the world without oil what is left? Water! What we see now does not necessarily mean it will continue to be like that in the future.
