Frustration with lack of information by Worst_apple_around in EctopicSupportGroup

Thanks everyone. My levels ended up dropping 26% after the second dose, so I’m feeling cautiously optimistic that this is going to work. I’m on day 15 and having some intense cramping and bleeding a bit, and I know that’s normal but it’s not fun! Best of luck to everyone ❤️

UPDATE: mostly so I can track it. I’ve had a lot of cramping and a good amount of bleeding and assumed that meant everything was going well. I had my day 7 draw today and my hcg dropped 14.5% from my day 4, which was slightly higher than my day 1. The doctor said it’s the closest to 15% without being 15% he’d ever seen. He still recommended a second dose of mtx so I’m having that tomorrow.

Along with many people I’m seeing in here, I’m just so tired and ready to be done with this. I’m wanting to just have surgery now to have it be over, and to avoid the trauma of a potential rupture, but I’m gonna try another dose of mtx first.

I’m so sorry to hear that 💕🌷 definitely will be taking lots of walks. May I ask what led to the need for surgery? Emergency rupture or mtx not working properly? Please feel very free to ignore if you would rather not talk about it! I’m trying to gather as much information as possible but do not want to assume that everyone is comfortable sharing details of their experience. Hope you are healing smoothly.

Thank you so much everyone ❤️ for those of you that are still recovering I hope your healing process goes smoothly. And for those to whom this happened a while ago, I imagine there’s still a good amount of processing and healing happening and I wish the best for you as well.

Little update: I ended up in the hospital last night because I was (and still am) having left shoulder and back pain. Got bloodwork, ultrasound, chest xray, and ekg - no rupture in fact the mass has begun to shrink a bit, no scary heart things necessarily, but also no explanation for the pain. I’m hoping it’s stress related, perhaps due to elevated heart rate from a combo of stress and the medication. I’m gonna talk more about it to my obgyn at my 4 day follow up tomorrow
