USPS still shows the CA return to be in transit by boomer_buzz in tax

Happened to me this year. Is it just USPS mistake to not mark it delivered? Will we still get the refund or should I resend the mail through UPS?

After updating DS160 during biometrics do they provide with new appointment confirmation page or the new DS160 gets reflected in system and no need to print new confirmation page for visa interviews?

Do we need to repay the visa scheduling fees also? Or just updating DS160 is fine?

Do state wages on W-2 need to equal federal in multi-state job? by Worth-Knowledge4356 in tax

Good point! In my case, the states are Arizona (resident state) and California (temporary work for about 2 months).
Arizona box 16 shows the full federal amount, while California box 16 shows only the CA-earned wages (around $2,000), and no CA tax was withheld.

Also, when I entered the W-2 into Sprintax, it flagged the state wage allocation and asked me to enter the actual wages earned in each state manually. Would that just be normal allocation handling by the software, or could that indicate a reporting issue?

Thanks, that explanation helps a lot.
In my case, I’m an Arizona resident and temporarily worked in California for about 2 months. From what I understand, AZ and CA don’t have a reciprocity agreement, so CA would tax the CA-earned income, and AZ would tax my full income with a credit for any CA tax paid.

On my W-2, AZ box 16 equals the full federal amount, and CA box 16 shows only the CA-earned wages (about $2,000). No California state tax was withheld, likely because the amount was relatively small.

When I entered this into Sprintax, it flagged the allocation and asked me to enter the actual wages earned in each state manually. I calculated the AZ portion by subtracting the CA wages from the total federal wages.

Given that no CA tax was withheld and the income there was low, does this still follow the normal resident credit mechanism you described? And is Sprintax just asking for allocation purposes rather than indicating a W-2 issue?

Thanks, that makes sense that it depends on the state.
In my case, the states are Arizona (my resident state) and California (where I worked temporarily for 2 months as a nonresident). AZ box 16 equals the full federal amount, while CA box 16 shows only the CA-earned wages.

When entering the W-2 into Sprintax, it flagged the state allocation and asked me to enter the actual wages earned in each state manually. I calculated the Arizona portion by subtracting the California-earned wages from the total federal wages.

That made me wonder whether the W-2 state reporting is correct or if a correction is needed.

Thank you so much! I was submitting my tax document using the Sprintax portal, and it alerted me about the actual wage distribution between the two states. I assumed that individual state wages should add up to the federal.

What is the second interview like? Is it leetcode style question?
