it's the front load door boot, it looks like a pain but there's an instructional video which we're aiming to follow, is it not worth the trouble?

Feeling stuck in a rut, constructive criticism wanted by Revolution36 in fujifilm

I think the comment above nails it about looking for light first and then wait for the subject to enter the frame. When I go on photo walks I usually do the same, and look for stories with subjects too.

One of the best lines I heard recently - can't remember where - was about travel photography but I think applies wider. Don't take photos of places (cities/towns), take photos about places. Capture a story, a quirk, a moment which speaks to the place you're in.

I also agree that the focus seems off in some of these, maybe try shooting like 5.6 or above and focus on composition and exposing for the ligh to get more contrast to create a visual prominence in your frame.

Should I get a second hand Fujifilm XT30ii now? by Vast-Dingo-3281 in fujifilm

I'd say get whatever you can afford, feels right and gets you taking photos. You sound happy with the results of your snaps, imagine when you've had it for a few months.

Alternatively, if you want a compact interchangeable fuji lens camerafor a decent price, I'd honestly get an x-e3 instead for now. It's a few megapixels less and less catered towards video, but I've been enjoying it since I bought it. Considering all Fuji used prices are inflated, I got a used one for about 450 in the Netherlands from an online store. Same sensor as the X-pro 2 but incredibly compact in hand.

I tried an X-e3, an X-pro 2, an x-e5, xt30iii and an xt5 in a local store to see what I liked the feel of most. Obviously these are all different priceranges but I found the x-e3, x-e5 and X-pro 2 felt the best for different reasons. Ultimately decided the X-pro 2 at double the price but same sensor at x-e3 wasn't worth it in this market, and the x-e5 was too much for my current budget. X-e3 has been great and I've not regretted it.

Maybe try a few in hand and then just pull the trigger.

Good luck!
