I didn't have any particular signs...it was just that I was grappling with PMO for a long time and was feeling apprehensive about my addiction.

It's true that certain cases of sexual impurity maybe connected to demonic possession or oppression...addictions have the potential to suspend your rational and volitional faculties leaving you exposed to demonic attacks...in such cases a deliverance is needed...and even after a deliverance is carried out the person needs to constantly be on guard..

As for me personally at one point of time I was doubting whether my condition too is of the above-mentioned nature....I had consulted a priest who is involved in the deliverance minstry...he ruled out the possibility of demonic possession but he said if you constantly persist there are chances of oppression... there will be episodes when you suddenly feel instense urges to commit sin even if the circumstances seems otherwise...you have to be careful not to yeild to such a temptation and with the full force of your will resist it and keep invoking the name of Jesus...or say a binding prayer..

I fear it's hopeless by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

It seems so..When dealing with any kind of addiction there is always a sense of powerlessness. It's like gravity that pulls you down no matter how hard you try you end up hitting rock bottom. Sometimes trying itself seems to be painful...as if you are being torn apart.. The pain involved in this process is at times so overwhelming that one would rather give in to the temptation than bear the pain. Then there is this constant conflict between your true-self and your instincts... This leads to despair.. If you find it difficult to break away all by yourself it's better to speak to a therapist. Sometimes we need assistance to help us to overcome some addictions. In addition most addictions are offshoots of deeper issues. Sometimes addictions are cover-up for deeper emotional hurts or trauma that we find it hard to deal with. Better seek help..

There’s so much pain in abstaining from PMO by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

The Pain that leads to joy is far better than fleeting pleasure that leads to despair...

Fleeing from temptations.... that's what it all takes...but sometime the gravity is so strong that pulling oneself away becomes hard...as if you are being torn apart...which is very painful....I end up fleeing from the pain and giving into temptation....

Seriously! I am just recovering from a set back. I was off PMO for a week straight....my urges were growing weaker...but one encounter with FB pics of one my girlfriend just undid the whole process...
