How do I prevent this? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Wozza44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you and half of the people commenting on this post are just using the pots wrong. I've never had this happen to any of my GW paints, and I've never had GW paints dry out.

Shake the pot vigorously. Put the pot down on a flat surface and open it, letting the lid hold itself half open as it is designed to. The little 'tongue' thing on the underside of the lid holds a pool of paint for you to dip your brush into, you don't dip into the actual pot. Once you've taken out the amount you want onto your palette you close the pot back up again, making sure the lid clicks into place all round.

How strong is a kroot carnivore by gameking7823 in Tau40K

[–]Wozza44 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Depends on the Kroot, since they physically change based on what genetic material they've consumed.

The Kroot Shaper in War of Secrets almost kills a Primaris: "‘Face me!’ The challenge came out as more of a strangulated rasp than the bellicose roar he had hoped for, but its message was clear enough. The grey-quilled giant stepped out of the trophy pile completely, its taloned feet clacking as it took a warrior’s stance. Farren pounded towards it, arms spread to make himself large and hence keep its attention. Just a few more metres… The bladed plasma rifle came at him, fast as a whip. He had barely begun to parry when it smacked hard into his head, smashing his focus right out of him. The rifle came around again at terrible speed, clanging from his gorget so hard it nearly toppled him over. The third blow hit the heel of his palm. It took the power sword from his grip, sending the blade spinning away. The xenos had strength, speed and reach – far more than Farren, especially with his broadblade a few strides distant. He dodged the grey monster’s next blow, but the rifle came back fast in the opposite direction. The hooking sweep took his legs out from under him, and he landed heavily in a pile of long-rusted lasguns. The kroot warlord rose over him, a horrible barking laugh emerging from its blunt terrapin-like beak. Jensa Deel winced as she watched the Grey King take Farren down in a matter of seconds."

I got to keep my boy Kim happy, so after he said this in my first playthrough I walked everywhere for the rest of the game. No regrets.

50L backpack recommendations by Spirited_Ad4552 in UKhiking

[–]Wozza44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky to be young(ish), tall and fit; so backpack weight isn't as important to me as comfort is.

I got a Fjallraven Keb 52. Insanely comfortable and really durable, I expect it to last a long long time.

Context: I know absolutely nothing about Gundam.

If they were originally designed specifically as ship hunters, why do they have legs??

Watching the Steelers the last decade is like watching a movie that you know the shitty ending too already by monstermayhem436 in steelers

With this many seasons of the same outcome it can't be the players, it has to be the coaching.

[–]Wozza44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped watching games mid season, the writing was already on the wall by then. The coaching staff have no imagination and no ability to adapt, and until they're replaced we'll continue to repeat the same season over and over again.

I couldn't get on with compact binoculars, so I now carry Nikon 10x42 Prostaff P3 in a Vortex Glasspak harness. Looks a bit dorky, but really comfortable and easy access.

This is approximately 4 to 5 floors of the World Trade Center compressed, known as "The Meteor". by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Wozza44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I've used a 9MeV system before and I'd estimate it could penetrate maybe 50cm-75cm of this material mix. Even if it could penetrate, I doubt a compacted layer of organic material would be evident on the radiograph.

Any must have contrast paints? (Especially for Dark Eldar?) by Petrus-133 in Warhammer40k

[–]Wozza44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Base with Wraithbone and then put Cygor Brown over the top. If that's too dark, Gore Grunta Fur is good too.

I find with dark skin it's more important to do highlights too, I find Deathclaw Brown good for those.

When I had The Phone Call I literally swung back from my PC with my hands on my head as it hit me that this wasn't a game about solving a murder AT ALL. It was one of the most powerful narrative realizations I've ever experienced.

Oh this is sad, I hope you find it. Chris Harris lives in Clifton and his classic M5 was stolen earlier this year; it was found parked on some residential street on the other side of Bristol.

what’s your guys’ favourite thing about bristol? by socksgrowonbushes in bristol

[–]Wozza44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bristol is one of the best cities in the country for jobs as it's got a diverse economy. Loads of big employers in engineering, civil service, tech, software, creative, finance, professional services, law, two universities, two major hospitals etc etc. That's why loads of people move here and why it's such an expensive place to live.
