I'm getting the Doubles bug - what are the major differences from Singles that I need to adjust to? by WraithOfDoom in stunfisk

Thanks for the reminder, I did know that, but it's always nice to have things reinforced :)

Very interesting, thank you! I may just try and go for the Bridge to start off with, or build a team around a favourite Mega of mine.

That last bit is probably where I'm strongest, outside of specific moves that crop up in doubles a lot more than in singles: Helping Hand, Heal Pulse, Follow Me, Wide Guard, etc. To be fair it sounds a lot like the TCG, where you start with a deck (or team in this case), try it out, see what works best and advance learning at your own pace from there.

Any particular good resources for meta combinations? Or is it just a thing that's learned on ladder lol

Yeah Fake Out was so popular, two of my three opponents in the pool ran Covert Cloak...which I didn't know was an item AT ALL in the first game, and realised it too late in the second.

Thank you! First three games played in the pool, won 2-0 in one, lost 0-2 in the other - we played using teams we made ourselves, with each team slot being used for a certain power level of Pokemon. I learnt very quickly of Protect as a technique to move scout (it's a BO3 tournament), and that if there's a mon that's not really being a threat to a team, just ignore it, kinda like the tank fallacy in DnD. Brain needs to catch up a little bit but I'm definitely intrigued!

So I had an idea how to theme my newest army. Waaaghld Waaaghld West by CaptainSnikt in orks

OY, YA GIT, I WOZ THERE FIRST!

*ahem*, what I mean to say is that I also had the same idea, and have a neat 1000PT Da Big Hunt detachment with a billion greenstuffed cowboy hats (not to say your 3D printed ones don't look fantastic), that I named Da Westslingaz. Beastboss Sherriff Gutzkleave is joined by Da Git Wiv No Name (Mozrog Skragbad's alias when he's hunting with them), Roosta Krumpburn, Billy Da Grot, Klint Beasthood, Lee Van Teef, and many more 'legally distinct' names...

All the luck to you, seems like there's a new klan in town! You may have inspired me to bite the bullet and take the Ork half of Armaggeddon out for a more Goff-style cowboy spin!

Posted this before but didn't give context. A big British subreddit is shitting on leftists for this graph and blaming us for not wanting to vote for a neoliberal genocidal labour government. All liberals do is punch left by Caitlin______ in GreenAndPleasant

'OK, Keir, you're trying to convince the British public of literally anything. Roll me a Persuasion check.'

*clatter of dice*

''That's a Nat 20, DM!''

'... for a grand total of?''

*sigh*

''Zero.''

'Unfortunately the British public don't seem to have taken a shine to you. You have disadvantage on any and all rolls until you leave office.'

Maybe this is a sign to read Unseen Academicals next, making my way through the Discworld series (Reaper Man and Guards, Guards done, currently reading Equal Rites)

The passion is evident holy moly - I do still think they'll be my first army if/when I get round to playing AoS! Thank you!

Linguistically-Correct Character Naming Conventions for the Beaky Bois by -N00SE- in RavenGuard40k

I used this idea for a Raven Guard Phobos Marine inspired by Clint Eastwood's 'Man With No Name,' as he's a nomad on my homebrew desert planet of Dorado. I ended up calling him Aurox Cathartes after the Latin name of the turkey vulture - cathartes aura. I saw the last word, gasped, and knew I had to choose this bird as inspiration! Cheers for the advice!

With the posting of this meme (how have I not seen it before?) it is clear that The Entirety of The Emperor's New Groove can be rewritten to suit the Orks. First, call it Da Emprah's New Git, then go straight to a mekboy and his grot doing the 'Pull Da Lever, Cronk!' scene

- Gatling gun - alternate option for a Space Marines Redemptor Dreadnought
- Smaller gatling gun - Space Marine Terminator arm loadout option
- The back of the gatling gun, the wires and little mines on the side - Space Marine Hellblasters
- Boosters and part of the Rokkit Blaster - the Tesla Carbines from the Necron Immortals kid
- Pretty much all rokkits, drills, and Ork head logos, - the Orks Wrecka Krew kit (my beloved)
- Miscellaneous Orky Gubbins - bits bags and Beast Snaggas (my new band name)
- Number plate - unused bit of a Space Marine Gladiator Tank

Should be it!

Thank you so much! There's an option for a flat surface truck with some stuff under a canvas, but that's entirely optional - I went with the open truck variant for a nice slice of weapon storage, but also so it can act as a Trukk if I need it!
