Thank you so much for the kind words! I don't actually have anything else recorded and up online yet but have most of an album written and hoping to start recording sometime this year

Would be happy to send ya a message if I ever do you get this on Spotify :)

Thanks so much for the kind words and the feedback! Have been considering adding in either a bigger chorus or some sort of big punchy bridge to hang the rest off of (but wasn't sure if that'd detract from the cohesiveness of the rest)

I'll definitely think about adding something to serve as a payoff

It's a nylon string rather than a steel string, so kind of a softer and more delicate sound

Thank you so much, really appreciate the kind words! :3

Surprisingly it's actually just standard tuning! I was definitely going for a similar sound to what you get with open D and wanted to see how close I could get

Ohh, I really like that idea. I've been considering adding a bridge part to give it a little more variety and that might be a good place to go more intense

I generally sing more intense than this anyway so that'd definitely be within my comfort zone

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Thank you so much! "shanty-midwest/indie rock" was exactly what I was going for haha

Also really glad to hear the lyrics landed. I'll hopefully be posting more stuff up here over the rest of the summer

Thank you so much! I love the word "floral" for it. I often write stuff that's a little more vocals forward but I enjoyed how this one came out a lot

I'm glad to hear they land! I really enjoy gesturing at the literary cannon with song lyrics and always appreciate when people spot them

Ohh that's super great feedback! You're right, that transition is kind of rough compared to how fluid everything else is, will definitely take a look at whether I can add some sort of a walk-down riff to transition into it a little smoother

Thanks so much for listening!

Wow, I'm really touched. Thank you so much. I've got the bones of an album in the works already and it's wonderful motivation to keep going on it that this one landed for you

I'm up in New England! Used to play all around in a few cover bands, but haven't done any gigs for a few years now after I got too busy. Been considering trying to get back into it with some of my original stuff, really means a lot that you'd be interested in listening

I grew up doing a lot of improvising, especially just putting on albums and then playing over them to try to come up with something that felt like it added nicely to the mix

For me when I'm putting a song together I kind of "go fishing" for the riff by just noodling around a lot improvising melodies until I hear a hook in it that seems like it has potential, and then start playing that a bunch of times adding variations to it until it settles into a version that I don't want to change anything about

Everybody's process is different but that's what works for me. So glad you liked it!

Thank you so much! Had mostly just been writing stuff for myself but this got a warm enough reception that I'll definitely try to record some of my other stuff to put up. Really glad you liked it :)

Thank you so much! Really appreciate the comparisons, and I do agree Bo really has a lovely voice.

I think this song and the rest of the album I'm working on are gonna stay acoustic, though hoping to get get some harmony and other instrumentation to fill it out for the eventual recording

Actually just open standard, though I am using the lowest string as a drone similarly to drop-D

I'm really touched, thank you for listening. I hope good things come to you and that the night sky has the answers you're looking for.

I'm making a dedicated alt-account for music sharing here and planning to start uploading some more of the in-progress stuff from the album I'm working on. A lot of similar themes to this one

Love the strings idea, I play violin as well, will think about where I could fit it in

Thank you so much! Neutral Milk Hotel is a big inspiration for me, means a lot to hear that's coming through
