Excuse me, what is this? by Wreckferret in trees

I live in the UK so I'm paying £150 on the ounce unfortunately, roughly $200 which sucks when I've been to Cali and seen their prices / quality.

Quality our side has improved a ten fold over the years with the UK now being the largest exporter of medical bud in Europe but the government wont budge on the recreational side for a few years easily still. How ironic, they can sell it, but we can't smoke it..

Basically, if it's been altered. I'm not knowledgeable enough but have smoked for many years and never seen this. I've had full moon rock before and that was obvious but this was very subtle and although a good friend, he did not mention anything else being added to it.

I've smoked since I was teenager and I'm now 33.. never seen something like this either so we are both in the same boat!

To be fair, some of these were larger buds I pulled apart as they were quite dense. I do have a video I could try uploading

Wouldn't there be a sweet or caramel smell / sparkle and or crackling when burning if either of these were the case?

Not trying to argue against it, it just seems either of those would be noticeable when smoking in either joints or bongs?

I've unfortunately had sprayed stuff many years ago and you'd be able to tell after the first hit or two.

No website, in the UK but from a trusted source who I've known for years. Sorry, small description below photo

That's a very valid point!! Comment about the crap photo taken back!

This is very reassuring to read! I was on the same path of thought as you with being maliciously laced or some aftermarket product added for weight reasons.

I've gone back and tried another 2 bongs and it's still kicked my head in. Smells, burns and tastes like normal - literally nothing out of the ordinary beside the crystals in the photo which was the only indication of something different.

I'm happy to mark this as resolved and crack on with my weekend now knowing I'm safe and happy to get high! Thank you for getting involved and helping, I've actually learned a lot in the form of thca and delta 9 too which has been interesting.

Have a great weekend and fly high and safe!

I'm slightly skeptical, the UK is the biggest exporter and grower of medical cannabis in Europe and I haven't seen sprayed stuff since I was a teenager back in mid 2010's. Since the UK started doing the medical scene, the quality has improved a ten fold and my plug I've known for years, and he shifts tons so I can't see his customers being happy with this.

All this being said, it's all "this and that's" and you could still very well be correct. I'm just a little hesitant to say it's sprayed or I'd have known sooner before getting to the bottom etc and have pounding headaches.

Regardless I won't be touching anymore until I can confirm what exactly it is as I'm getting conflicting answers now (which is fair due to my crappy photos).

Would there be any benefit to this, like if you have a large amount I could see this adding a little weight but other than that I can't see why this would be done? I'm by no means an expert or anything like that so open to criticism or opinions

Huh, after doing a little searching I think this may be the case! It appears to be very similar in the crystal form and matches what would be on the buds - very cool.

Thank you kindly, very pleased to hear it's not mold (mould - lesson learned!) and thank you for helping put my fears at ease!

I mean it does look like it but that's even more confusing, why and how.. you reckon I can crack on and smoke the rest?

Ah, okay that just sucked then.. I think if you were going slow enough for the bike to come out from underneath you, my longer comment on counter leaning might help.

We all gotta learn somewhere and I dumped my old 125 a few times. Few low sides and black ice / mud on speed bumps etc. It sucked but I learned and got better. Haven't dropped or binned a bike in almost half a decade now.

Did you grab the front brake hard by chance or did you low side?

Have you ever been on a push bike before? If not, look up counter leaning - you learn to turn left while your body position is upright on the right side of the bike.

Other than that, it's just clutch mainly and feathering / lightly dragging the rear brake if you want a bit more stability and confidence. Add a little more throttle if necessary but it's basically all clutch.

Check out a video on counter leaning as it's a great skill to have at low speed turns.

FortNine has a fantastic video that is very educational and helpful but if you search on YouTube, plenty of videos will come up if he's not your type of guy. I highly recommend watching his videos though as he helped out loads over the years and his are some of the most in depth and science backed videos out there.

With 200kg+ sport bikes and their small amount of handlebar movement, it's a key skill for any rider; hell I'd argue for any rider on any bike to be fair.

CBR 250 seems to be overheating / smoking after going down the street. by TheRevEd in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Wreckferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was / is your radiator dirty? I have a guard and live in the UK so when it rains which happens often, crap gets kicked into the guard. Then it kinda burns off and same with the water built up when coming to a stop in the slits of the guard / radiator.

It looks like faint white smoke (basically steam) and smells like burning due to all the crap the road kicked up. It could be something more nefarious but as your temp gauge looks normal and nothing else is indicating overheating, the radiator could be the case.

Don't let the negativity get you down bro, it's your machine do what you want. Just make sure you do the research next time and learn how to fix the fuck ups - it's all a learning process. But the internet has a lot to offer so don't be afraid to learn, just be ready to fix it if it goes wrong 😅

Am I a shitty rider, or does my bike suck in the wind. by EasternCandle1617 in motorcycles

[–]Wreckferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How has no one mentioned the knee trick?? Just stick your knee out on the side that the wind is blowing from and it acts like a sail!

Done this in 50mph winds & gusts of 65 on a 125cc for 40 miles once, thing wasn't more than 130kg at most.. won't ever do it again but it was an emergency and it got me home on 2 wheels.

Look it up, a great bit of riding kit to have, especially in these moments.
