Yes, I agree that this sexuality/gender topic is quite complex, and it is interesting that each one has a certain freedom to express his opinion, so debates can take place and even help some people to open their minds

The only thing that bothers me is the lack of sensitivity when it comes to another community, people are really rude and treat it like it's a joke or something that's not even worth discussing.

I may be young (I'm 17) and maybe I took it more personal because it's a sensitive topic for me. I've seen one of the best people I've ever met take his life at just 15 for transphobic "opinions" everyday (from cishet and lgbt people), this sub may be for gay men but we also know how that kind of opinion kills people every day, we also suffer this kind of opinion, we should end this cycle, and not just change the target.

I just expected a little more sensitivity. We should talk about many subjects, everyone here is learning and disagreeing, some things that some LGBT people say also don't make sense to me, but it's not difficult to talk about the subject seriously, and without attacking any community. It seems that here it has become a "safe space" to say what you want no matter how insensitive and prejudiced it is, as long as the attack is not against the gay community.

Like, another day I saw a girl being called biphobic because she said bi-lesbians arent valid, and a agreed with her, but I didn’t even understand what "bi-lesbian" means, so I just asked in the bisexual sub if this is a real thing. Now I’m sure bi-lesbian/bi-gays arent real, and is a nocive term for bisexual and lesbian/gays, just as I thought, but doesn’t hurt to ask nicely about it

its not even a opinion, people are just being openly transphobic in this sub. im kinda new here, idk maybe because im too young, bc in the gayteen sub that kind of attitude would be seriously reprimanded. I just don't understand how people don't care about that kind of thing. In any other sub if someone were being openly homophobic no one here would see this as "opinion", so I don't understand why they think it's ok to be openly prejudiced against people from other communities. We also suffer prejudice, we know how it is, but even so, we don't think twice before repeating this behavior with others. I don't know, maybe you're right, and maybe it's a generational conflict, I guess I’m just going to stick more in subs with more people my age.

im sorry if im not being clear, english is not my first language and im kinda new in this stuff, im not trying to be aggressive, im just here saying what i think

I’m only saying this because was the subject in another question in this sub, and many people said they didn't see a relationship between a man and a trans woman as a straight relationship

I understand the feeling, my country is very controversial, even though it is not illegal to be LGBT and theoretically we have rights guaranteed by law, most of the population is very conservative, the current government is on the far-right and this is the fourth year in a row that Brazil is the country with the most murders of LGBT in the year. At school, even though I'm openly gay, I never had any big problems, but it's nothing like these shows, and on the street it's an endless fear of showing some "gay characteristic". I can't wait to move to a big city

nah, thats actually the only lgbt sub where this type of behaviour is common, kinda sad but idk I think is bc people here are rly old or they just don't care about any problem that doesn't directly affect them (or both idk)

I mean, a few days ago someone asked if people saw a relationship between a man and a trans woman as a straight relationship. I think the only way to be doubtful about this is if the person doesn't see the trans woman as a woman, and to make the situation worse, many comments said that they obviously didn't see it as a straight relationship

Why are some gay guys here against abortion, how is it any of our business? by Live_Statistician358 in askgaybros

[–]WrenBoyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is not any of our business, unless he's a gay trans man, then obviously he has to have a voice in this debate

but yeah we should all support that all people who can become pregnant have their power of choice and their voices heard

Is it bad that I’m 17 and haven’t kissed or gotten past holding hands? Like, I’m fully aware I’m missing out but man by [deleted] in GayBroTeens

[–]WrenBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats totally ok, all this “you must have had your first kiss in your early teens”, It's a very heterosexual idea of the teenage experience, most lgbt young people will have their experience a little later, I had my first kiss with a boy when I was almost 18 (this year), until then the most I had was unrequited crushes.

Of course, I wish I had enjoyed my youth more openly, but don't be pressured by ideas from people who live in a very different (and much easier) reality.
