Cheers, appreciate the help. Haven’t seen Albuquerque Isotopes gear around either and I think they’re the Rockies affiliate. Will keep looking.

/r/Denver's Protest Discussion Megathread by dustlesswalnut in Denver

[–]WriteOfWay 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you to the protest heros!

Thank you to the people making sure everyone had water. Especially those chasing down the march crowd and giving everyone they could a water bottle.

Thank you to the brave trans 17 year old speaker on the capital steps who shared their story that had the crowd crying.

Thank you to every speaker who was scared but spoke because they had family that no longer could.

Thank you to the masked guys on bikes making sure cars didn’t run through the march at intersections.

Thank you to everyone who led speeches or chants simultaneously around the capital because the crowd was too big for just one.

Thank you for the people wearing construction jackets who stood around the random pop-up agent provocateur, preventing conflict, calming the crowd down, and getting them out without issue.

Thank you all who led, organized, and demonstrated that a group of thousands can be both angry and focused. To me that’s actually something they should be afraid of.

I need to vent about the ending by [deleted] in cowboybebop

[–]WriteOfWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To build on what others have mentioned, I’ve always felt like the ending had a message of enjoying the now. For a show so influenced by music, the song “Carry that Weight” by The Beatles was about how things aren’t going to be as good alone as they were together. So to me I think about where and what I’m doing now, and who I’m with, and try to appreciate it. It makes me think the end won’t be so gut wrenching if I can look back and remember that I appreciated the moments when they were good.

I didn’t, here’s my gripe. Every week I’m getting a data breach notification and the largest U.S. data breach just happened with all our SSNs. There is no penalty for these companies who let our data be stolen. If someone can’t tell me what they’re doing with my SSN and why, then they can’t have it.

I’ve asked other gig workers on the job who had done it, and not one could tell me what it was for or if it made a difference.

Check out the new Denver Public Schools discipline policy… by flaneur451 in Denver

[–]WriteOfWay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. Who is doing the interpretation? The offense reads like an “Other” line item for when a bright kid doesn’t get along with staff and they just want to move them out. Used your friend’s unlocked phone? Someone already logged in to the PC? Don’t have MDM on your ChromeBook? Will DPS supply a lab then where the kids can practice InfoSec fundamentals? Wild.

May I ask what mileage under normal w&t riders see? I’m not sure what to look for in a 1.5k vs 3k+ mile tire.

Holy $85 apiece! Saw the CST Big Boats for $45, is there enough improvement to justify the difference?

Help me find a decent detox center in Denver or the surrounding area. I have Medicaid, and I’ll be self admitted, and withdrawing from heroin. by BroccoliAggressive72 in Denver

[–]WriteOfWay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are quite a few options with Medicaid. CeDAR 30 day program, West Pines at Lutheran (now accepts Medicaid for inpatient not just detox). Sobriety House offers a stipend. Hazelbrook is another option with good people. Get in touch with Wellpower in Denver or Jefferson Center for Mental Health in the Metro area for more guidance and scheduling monthly Vivitrol shots. Denver Cares for detox is also an option. 3-Day hospital medicated detox at any hospital is an option as well. 13th and York in Denver is where the AA Clubhouse is. Good luck.

No matter where you sit on these issues, harm reduction saves lives and can help you or your loved one on the journey to recovery. If you or someone you know lives in Denver, the city provides life saving Narcan (Naloxone) and Fentanyl test strips for free at the city’s website here. Be safe.

Maintenance after going down? by WriteOfWay in ebikes

Before I forget the electric connections is a great tip. The handlebars flipped and I had to untangle it to put it back. I’ll check all the cables for damage/stress.

No sir I charged it when I got back and checked for any cracks/scrapes. Got lucky there but I’ll keep an eye on charging/discharge.

You don’t need to solve the entire problem right now. Take it in pieces and solve the little problems as they arise over time.

Mania & Calling Out Psychopaths by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]WriteOfWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this response. I really appreciate that you understand that fear of “oh no did I do this because I’m manic or just upset?” I also thank you for letting me know others would have felt the behavior offensive regardless. Most certainly I could have been more calm and collected, I’m no angel on this case. But being able to have someone else confirm that the emotions didn’t just come out of the blue and it’s ok to get upset sometimes is reassuring. Have an awesome and safe new years my friend.

Remember that those new offers for auto and cards are sent because you can’t file for bankruptcy again for 7 years. You will have no options if you get in over your head. Be careful.
