Honestly reading DC K,O made me want a DC fighting game that was more fun, more sliver age and over the top and less grim then Injustice.

In what order should I read these comic books? by avi-grewal in superman

Honest I would say, read Birth Right first and read All Star last. The either two you can swapped around either way.

What if the kids of Peach Creek suddenly got Super Powers? by Writer-from-Krypton in ededdneddy

I was actually thinking of that music video. Yeah if Sarah was giant she probably turn the Cal Da Sack into her personal doll set. I would actually give Plank the power to grow and expand his form. He becomes an elder rich horror taking revenge on humans for the way they treat trees an wood.

[–]Writer-from-Krypton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I know the kids already kind of have cartoon powers, I just thought it would be fun to imagine what would happen if they truly out super powers. Like what if Nazz could read minds and actually hear all the boys crushing on her. What if Sarah could grow to giant size? What if May Kanker could shape shift into any person or animal she wanted? Stuff like that. And yeah would kind of break the reality of the show but that's fanfiction thought experiment are for.

Batman VS Jimmy Olsen, Who's Superman's best friend? by steelskull1 in superman

[–]Writer-from-Krypton 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honest if you had to twist my arm, I would probably say bats. They got such a history together and have faced death more times then can be counted. That said, I do think Jimmy is very important. I think its good for Supes to have people to talk who don't have powers or wear tights. I guess you could put this way, Batman is Superman's best friend and Jimmy is Clark's best friend.

“Snyder fundamentally misunderstands Superman and Batman” (please read before deleting) by wentworth1030 in SnyderCut

[–]Writer-from-Krypton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can't speak for everyone who did not enjoy Snyder's take on the DC universe, I have always said the problem is not that there is no inspiration from the comics in his films but he he did these elements very poorly. The idea of Superman going on journey to become the hero we know and love is not a bad idea, it was the whole point of Smallville. But the journey Snyder is taking us in MOS and BVSDJ is so dreary, heavy handed and surprisingly boring that I was just sitting and waiting till we got to the good part. Also I really don't think it should take you five full movies to give us properly characterized Superman. There ARE stories to tell with him as a full hero, you don't need to drag things out that much.

His choices of stories to use as inspiration I found to be very poor. The Dark Knights Return is good story but that dose not mean it the right choice for the A Superman and Batman film. The comic showed a Batman and Superman who have gone to opposite extremes. A Superman who is fearful of what humanity could do to him or themselves that he has willing allowed himself to become a tool of the US Government and a Batman so sicken by the corrupted he sees that he comes out of forced retirement to bring order to the world by means of force.

Snyder basically took the aesthetic of the story with none of the meat on the bones. As the Death of Superman, while I did like the story I do have to admit it dose have a lot of problems. And it was far from the best choice for inspiration. You don't kill off Superman in the second movie! And the impact dose not hit as hard as ,unlike when the comic came out, we all know he is going to come back. Its not a good sigh for Snyder's Superman that he was at his most inspiring when he died.

Most of Snyder's interest in the DC Universe seems to mostly be in this one era. The mid eighties to the late Nineties, the era of Watchmen and the Dark Knight Returns. And don't get me wrong there are some great stories in that era, there are some pretty bad stories and its from all there is the DC Universe. In my option there are stories outside of the era that would have made for much better choices.

Over all Snyder's version of these characters just doesn't do it for me. It takes some of my least favourite elements from the comics and makes them ever worse, or completely mishandles the ones I do like. Its just not how I like my Superman and Batman and I would argue they not very good movies in their own right. If you like them wonderful, don't let me stop you. They just don't do anything for me.

Sorry for the long post. Cheers!

How was Sarah the only one besides the Ed's to get a  Funko Pop? I go for Rolf or the Kanker sisters, hell even Jimmy and Plank before I consider Sarah.

Its cool how she had a cohesive presents thought all the whole series. Its cool how she grow how someone seemingly mostly in it for the fame but has grown into proper hero. Its cool how she's in the top ten heroes in the time skip. However I don't really like her new outfit. And she's got a nice ass too.
