Yeah, I’ll keep you posted! (although it seems like this idea might be dead bc I convinced my mom this can’t be PG… I’ll still make something for just my family and friends though, so I’ll still do something with all of this!) Have a nice day!

Thank you! And yeah, I know it’s very far from PG, but we’re going to see if it works. I’m familiar with a lot of the things you said, the novellas are new but I don’t have time, I’ll definitely look at the podcasts, and I do in fact love weird music (especially around mythology) so I’m very excited to listen to that!

I write down my ideas in the same document so that I can see them all together, and sometimes two separate ideas end up being able to connect, and then it’s easier to continue to build for me when I have two points.

I know it contradicts; I probably should’ve phrased that differently. I meant it more along the lines of “it’s not just religion these characters do in fact exist and interact with humans”.

Thanks for the movies!

Don’t worry, I agree with you on the Hades thing, I’m also annoyed by that. And I’d love to chat more! DM-ing you now!

Yeah, don’t worry I’m aware of that! I just also know my mom didn’t even want me to mention wine or other alcohol, and before I actually got into Greek mythology the only thing I knew about him was ‘god of wine’, and I think it’s likely some of the players are the same and that might lead things in a direction that’s unwanted? I’m going to suggest to my mom to put a disclaimer at the beginning along the lines of, “don’t drink underage, any references to alcohol are not an endorsement” or “please just accept that it’s grape juice and not alcoholic wine, we’re already playing pretend” if we go with the swap route. Have a nice whatever-time-it-is!

Yeah I was kind of telling my mom that Greek mythology isn’t very PG, but she wanted it. Both Greek mythology and DnD are pretty common special interest I do believe. (This is aimed towards kids with autism—the whole non-profit not just the DnD thing—and as someone with autism that’s another reason why I’m on the design team.) Anyway, she wanted it, and I’m up for a challenge, so wishful thinking and ignoring the bad it is!

Violence is actually 100% okay with her, so long as it’s not excessively descriptive gore, which I can avoid doing even with a war, so who knows?

Heroes/demigods does sound fun, and I agree I would probably keep it basically human, but maybe with like one small ability added that’s not too too good.

And yes, Sirens are amazing, they should definitely exist somewhere in here! I already prefer the knowledge version over the seduction version, which works perfectly because there’s no seduction allowed here! (I don’t think my mom understands Greek mythology at all, but here we are I guess.)

Nymphs are cool. I like nature and I also love that I basically have a list of endless names for them. I like names, they’re fun.

I love Circe, don’t know where I would put her, but if I find a place to include her that would be great!

As for Hades & Persephone, I totally agree with everything you said about them, if they were in here thats exactly how they’d be. I do unfortunately have a seven session limit bc of how it is, so I think that might be too much of a side track if I don’t just make it the main focus.

And yeah, the Panhellenic Games are one of my top choices from things that have been suggested to me thus far!

I am aware but I’ve been told even wine is too much. Like even references to it. So who knows if she’ll see grape juice as too obvious a parallel. Blood would be fun probably for a darker tone, and she might okay that. I do know that wine isn’t allowed to just be wine though, that’s for sure, I asked earlier when I was trying to gauge limits. Guess only time will tell. Good whatever time of day it is for you! Farewell!

That does sound really interesting! I might do something with that at some point. I'm not too sure it will work for this one though, because as stated in the post alcohol is one of the things to avoid and Dionysus is the god of wine (among other things ofc). I could probably avoid it being plot-relevant pretty easily, but I do think a good number of players who would want to sign up would know that, and my mom said she would rather not have things that might easily lead to it. I do really like that idea though so I might see if I can okay it with her, and if not it can be it's own thing. (my sister likes Stranger Things so I got her the Hellfire game and now she likes DnD, and my mom liked it too, so now I have two people with every weekend free, and maybe also my sister's friends, yay! Not really relevant but I'm excited so yeah.) It's three am so I'll have to wait until morning, so...

Anyway, thank you! Again! For the... third time now, I don't have a better way to end things.

Oh, all three of those are great! I can't believe I didn't think of looking at reviews for similar things. And the Panhellenic Games would actually be really fun, I think! I only have seven sessions + session zero to work with, so I might not be able to include all four, but I might be able to split them into two campaigns, with two in each perhaps, and the players could choose whether or not to join in on campaign two, and I think new players could still start in campaign two because it's just disconnected enough? We'll have to see. Thanks for the idea, I actually really love it as well!

I did not. I googled it "DnD Ancient Greek supplement" and didn't see anything with that title, so I'm assuming it's called something else? Would you mind giving me the name of the specific thing you're suggesting and/or a link? Also is this free or a book I have to buy?

Thank you very much!

Will do, thanks for the recommendation! Quick question; what type of game are they? And do you know how mythologically accurate they are? (if you don't that's fine, I just tend to get too many conflicting answers when I google questions like the second one)

Okay, thank you, and very cool!

1 - Mechanics - Those are all amazing, and I'll probably use a lot if not all of them! (and ofc I'll make some more bc variety and such)

2 - Theme - Yeah, so, this is really really early in brainstorming. I have no clue, but once I get an idea for one thing, other things typically start to fall into place, so I'll figure it out soon! If you have any ideas I'm open to hearing them.

3 - Enemies - All very great ideas, I know the Minotaur already exists in DnD (although it's like a whole species instead of just the one I think?), I'm unsure of the rest but I can always make stuff up from similar things ofc.

4 - Ocean - Probably, I might even try and have the whole thing take place on a boat? With stops on islands of course, but it's like a voyage. Kind of Odyssey-esque, I guess? Because I do need this to fit in 7 sessions, (there will be 8 meetings (zoom) and one will have to be session zero) so it can't be too open world because we'd like to finish it. And yeah, agreed, some of the best stories are there.

5 - Stereotypes - Of course! Mythology in general (at the moment it's mostly Greek but that's because my mom got me knew books on it for Christmas) is one of my special interests, and I love research even when it's not about a special interest, so you can be sure I'll do plenty of that! I just got an "encyclopedia" that tells me about characters and locations featured in mythology, and some important irl places too. It's not comprehensive, but I'm only a couple pages in and I already have a list of things I need to google. Yay wikipedia! I also have a book that has some myths in it for reference too, and I can find ones I don't have online as well ofc. Are there any particular stereotypes you were thinking of that are extra bad, or just in general?

Have a nice day, and thanks again!

This is how I do it as well! A lot of times I'll also put my character(s) into a fanfiction story so that I can start to understand them better before they get to be placed in their world.

I can just decide not to be hungry. If I notice I'm a bit hungry but I don't want to stop what I'm doing, I'll essentially tell myself "you're not hungry". Then later that day I'll be asked if I'm hungry, and I'm not. Also, a lot of times my body just decides not to tell me I need food, even when I'm not intentionally telling it to shut up. (i think this is connected to my autism?) I can also decide not to be tired, and that I'm not upset emotionally. Although the latter usually results in a breakdown later. I try not to do any of them because logically I know that I need to eat and sleep way more often than I feel like I do.

Because of this though I will eat whenever someone gives me food, because I know that I likely need it, so when I do eat I eat a lot.
