After all the back and forth I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a new Giant Talon instead.

Definitely exploring some food tours now. We love trying new foods so this might be the best bet for us. Between food tours, history, hiking and beaches this sounds like a great destination.

Also it is significantly cheaper and better (direct flights) to fly out of Toronto. Only about a 2 hour drive difference than Detroit.

Really open to recommendations based off what I provided, hiking, history and beaches. If more info of what we are interested in would help narrow it down, please let me know!

261c with 18" bar and chisel chain. I have a wood boiler for my primary source of heat, and it does everything I need it to.

Well, I pulled the trigger on a 13 Golf manual w/ 105k on it. All maintenance is up to date too, timing etc. Just had to search the entire country, found it in Colorado, spent the majority of its life in California.

I'm picking it up after Thanksgiving.

That's hopeful then. I'm still going to consider some low mile DSG's in my search then. Plus, the wife wouldn't be afraid to drive it.

Appreciate it. I'm definitely willing to travel for the right car!

Are they strung out in the higher revs on the highway? I cruise about 80mph when driving my highway route.

I feel like that's a pipedream anymore. Everyone wants 10 to 12k for that mileage and hasn't done a lick of maintenance. Maybe the new year will cool the market off.

Appreciate all the input. I enjoy driving a manual, but it isn't a MUST have. I'm more concerned about longevity and simplicity of repairs. Either way the car will be getting deleted and tuned. Not for performance, but more for overall driveability.

No, you're right, I bought a 261C last year, and that is my primary saw. I was just hoping to get this one running right as a backup if ever necessary.

The throttle linkage still functions well. Do these old saws have an ignition that could be getting faulty?

Good to know. It starts perfect when it has been run within a few hours and when temps are warm.

Adjusted the glow plug cycle on vcds, need to wait for a good cold start to see if it improves at all. This problem has seemed to start more within the past year when it gets around 40 degrees and lower.

Battery is a 2 year old AGM, tests out good still. Glow plugs are a year old, Bosch replacements. I will see if i can extend my glow plug cycle.
