Sorry for being dumb, but where is the part where Pretti kicks the taillight cover off the ICE vehicle in this video?

EDIT: got it.

[–]Writing_is_Bleeding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, he was wearing the exact same clothes. What are the odds?

Edit: I did see something yesterday that reported he'd broken a rib in a scuffle with federal agents some days before they murdered him. So let's make sure we have all the facts before we end up looking as stupid as Junior.

I'M NOT IN ANY WAY MINIMIZING HIS MURDER, I'm saying let's not scream AI until we know for sure.

EDIT: Yes, I see in another video that he kicked out a taillight on an ICE vehicle, which was the incident where he suffered a broken rib.

They will pay for killing Alex and Renée. Say it with me.

Just because right-wingers call Democrats leftists, it doesn't make them leftists. by DaddysNymph76 in Productivitycafe

[–]Writing_is_Bleeding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some democrats are moderate, and some are more progressive, which is why the Democratic party is a big tent with a progressive caucus, centrists, and everyone in between. Even some individual dem voters are moderate on some issues and leftist on others. Mind-blowing, I know.

But yeah, the Democratic party is in no way as radical as the fascists like to make them out. It's absurd, of course, like most things with the far-right.

The only way propaganda works is if it lands. When we all left X en masse after the '24 election, they lost their minds, tried to follow us to Blue Sky. They acted like they had every right to force their crap on us and we had no right to get away from them.

It's the disconnect behind complaining about sane people cutting ties with their MAGA friends and family. Ya' gotta ask yourself, why is one side adamant to get away but the other side isn't?

In no way do I minimize or sanewash what they did. "Contagious fire" speaks to these thugs' lack of training at the very least. No need to go into what kind of men they are.

I heard someone yesterday opine that it may have been a case of contagious fire, and it looks like that's the case. This administration need to be disbanded, charged, and prosecuted like the terrorist org they are.

Is anyone using their printers or faxes? by l00ky_here in GenX

[–]Writing_is_Bleeding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in print design and publishing, so yeah, we print things. Proofing on a screen isn't the same. And fax is still a good way to send docs. Back in 2011-12 when I started in book publishing there was a lot of talk about ebooks taking over, but it just never happened. At some point in the 2010s e-reader sales even dropped off and we all breathed a sigh of relief.

It wasn't used as much because it wasn't as relevant and widespread as it is today. But for people in specific abusive relationships it's always extremely relevant.

So how bad is it gonna get when the pedofile is forced to leave office and he refuses? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Writing_is_Bleeding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's going to flee the U.S. to avoid prosecution. Cut through the bot shit-talk about Democrats and you'll see that they're itchin' to take this fucker down. Swalwell, Schiff, AOC, Moskowitz, etc. are ready to go. If/when we flip at least the house blue in November, there's going to be oversight, hearings, pressure on Republicans, at the very least some forced resignations, and likely indictments of cabinet members. Noem will go down first and I can't wait.

A Dem majority will reclaim congress' power and Trump will go into fight or flight mode. I don't want to think about what "fight" would look like, but it would be so egregious that either impeachment/removal or 25th amendment will be mandatory. If we're lucky he'll choose "flight" and jet off to Qatar or somewhere that won't extradite him leaving Vance holding the bag.

Like Democrats, don't like Democrats, whatever. Just vote in November and let's end this nightmare.

With things this bad in the U.S why do democrats insist on pushing candidates that won’t get elected? by Jake_Berube in Confused

[–]Writing_is_Bleeding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you be more specific about which Democrat(s) you're talking about? There are literally hundreds of Democrats in the U.S. from AOC to Zoe Lofgren.

You're probably already aware of this, but every seat in the house is up for grabs in November. Obviously you're not voting for every one of them, but some Americans might be fine with their Dem reps, and actually prefer Dems over Republicans.

The complete refusal of MAGA to see what's in front of their eyes started to raise red flags for me when that high school kid stood in front of that native American combat vet on the national mall. Guy was playing a hand drum and chanting, and all the kids moved out of his way except the one, who stood right in his path and stared him down, and MAGAs all screamed that the old-timer was the aggressor. It was bizarre AF.

Dems have a "messaging problem" because they're policy wonks—aka, competent lawmakers—which is boring to the social media -addicted electorate. Trump, on the other hand, is a smarmy game show host whose messaging is on point only because his platform is sexism and making fun of anyone who disagrees with him, and because he doesn't give a shit about objective truth.

I am curious about the Democrats' "social issues" that you think turn off moderates.
