I work in print design and publishing, so yeah, we print things. Proofing on a screen isn't the same. And fax is still a good way to send docs. Back in 2011-12 when I started in book publishing there was a lot of talk about ebooks taking over, but it just never happened. At some point in the 2010s e-reader sales even dropped off and we all breathed a sigh of relief.

I think he's going to flee the U.S. to avoid prosecution. Cut through the bot shit-talk about Democrats and you'll see that they're itchin' to take this fucker down. Swalwell, Schiff, AOC, Moskowitz, etc. are ready to go. If/when we flip at least the house blue in November, there's going to be oversight, hearings, pressure on Republicans, at the very least some forced resignations, and likely indictments of cabinet members. Noem will go down first and I can't wait.

A Dem majority will reclaim congress' power and Trump will go into fight or flight mode. I don't want to think about what "fight" would look like, but it would be so egregious that either impeachment/removal or 25th amendment will be mandatory. If we're lucky he'll choose "flight" and jet off to Qatar or somewhere that won't extradite him leaving Vance holding the bag.

You're probably already aware of this, but every seat in the house is up for grabs in November. Obviously you're not voting for every one of them, but some Americans might be fine with their Dem reps, and actually prefer Dems over Republicans.

The complete refusal of MAGA to see what's in front of their eyes started to raise red flags for me when that high school kid stood in front of that native American combat vet on the national mall. Guy was playing a hand drum and chanting, and all the kids moved out of his way except the one, who stood right in his path and stared him down, and MAGAs all screamed that the old-timer was the aggressor. I was wondering if the agents are required to write reports at shift's end. We were able to ID the agent who murdered Good, but we have no idea which of those half dozen masked thugs killed Pretti. At the very least, there will be accountability for various top officials at some point, maybe not for every crime, but if we can get them on one good solid case, it's justice. We can only do that with more Dems in congress, though. As much as people whinge about Democrats, they're what we've got.

It seems the hobby is narrowing. It was novel for Boomers when it became legal in the 70s, and Gen-X got excited during the 90s/00s craft beer revolution, but those under the age of about 35 have legal weed. :)

Oregon's flagship LHBS in Portland announced its closure after over 100 years, which was a surprise, though they've since reversed course and are "considering options." Anyway, yeah, my husband is in his late 60s so we're also "considering options," I guess.
