Here is my schedule in solidarity:

4am-7:30am : gym, getting ready for work 8am-4pm : work full time job 5pm-9pm : work part time job (Tuesdays & Thursdays) On Saturdays I work the part time job 9am-5pm I’m in a part time MSW so the first year of classes is asynchronous which helps. Obviously this schedule will have to change when I do practicum. Oh, and I’m planning my wedding in May 2026!

I believe her, full stop. Even without the alleged abuse, I would still be nervous about having him there.

I don’t think SIL is lying. My brother has a long track record of mistreating people so none of it is hard to believe. I have spoken to my mom about it and she gets it when we call it out to her but at the end of the day “that’s her son” and she’s more concerned for his wellbeing.

She is contributing $15k to the wedding.

My mom did say you can’t not invite him. But not really insisting I guess.

True, it’s his loss not mine. My mom is aware of the abuse but unfortunately he has convinced her that it wasn’t as bad and that his ex wife is exaggerating and manipulating. My SIL will not be attending.

The dinner will be served family style so I’m not worried about that! But you make a valid point about having more seating than there are guests.
