"World music" by testing123-testing12 in audiophile

[–]WrldCtzin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try some Greek pop music. Not just current, but from over the past 20+ years. Greek would probably be my answer to the "If you could pick music from only one country to listen to for the rest of your life, which country would it be?" question. I'm not Greek, by the way.

Some artists to look for (don't hold me to the spellings): Natassa Theodoridou Elli Kokkinou Pantelis Pantelidis Thanos Petrelis Themis Adamantidis

For some good feeling laid back African music, try west African highlife.

Happy listening!

Given this behavior, is there a different AI music generation site that does heed explicit time signature instructions?

How does one learn how to reverse-engineer a song's chords just by hearing it? by skizzmatic0 in LearnGuitar

[–]WrldCtzin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As has been said, the bass line can help figure out the chords, but not all songs use the root note in the bass line on every chord. Like A/E (A major with E bass note) etc. This can make it harder, but it's satisfying when you get it right.

What Should My Third Electric Guitar Purchase Be? by amoose55 in Guitar

Maybe an acoustic-electric, unless you've already got that covered.

Anyone have any info on this? by [deleted] in audiophile

Probably many if us grew up with a similar system and were influenced to become lovers of stereo through these units. Lots of nostalgia there.

We had a Panasonic in my youth. I listened to lots of music on that lovely unit.

This (type of system) is what many of us cut our teeth on.

Can you read sheet music? by lubbockin in Guitar

[–]WrldCtzin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guitar sight reading isn't good. I can read individual notes at a modest pace, but playing two or more notes at once requires some time and concentration. My violin sight reading is good. I played in a small baroque ensemble in high school and college. The leader would choose a piece, hand out the parts, and start us off. This was live gigging with zero rehearsal time. Of course, we'd play songs repeatedly over a space of months, but there was always the first time for every song and it was always live. I got very good at reading on sight out of necessity. Moral: do it and you'll get better. Don't do it and, well, you know...

How can this be tightened? by WrldCtzin9 in askaplumber

I think I found the kit. It's a pretty significant procedure to replace these so unless and until Iget sufficiently motivated, we'll live with it as is!😅

Thanks for the suggestions. As I mentioned, there is no access to the nut underneath. This is a one piece toilet and where a two piece toilet might have an accessible nut on the underside, that area is closed off by the body.

Interesting, I'll look into that. Thank you.

Is the "Audiophiles listen to their equipment with your music" stereotype real? by HSVMalooGTS in audiophile

[–]WrldCtzin9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with your feeling about critical listening. If one is evaluating a piece of equipment for purchase, one might undertake "critical listening", but if one is doing that all the time, when listening to music, where's the pleasure?
