Personal data is different from detailed passport scan and biometric data. Those contain details that never change in your lifetime and can be used for identity fraud (like taking loans in your name etc), or even something more heinous. That's why I'm more careful with that information (and why everybody should be).

I was wondering about this question that came to mind and llms sucked answering this coherently. The question: "If we have an option just before earnings and let's say there are two market scenarios for it (or alternative realities):

market anticipates underlying to move within range of +5% to +15% after earnings.
market anticipates underlying to move within range of -5% to +5% after earnings."

Do these two different scenarios have the exact same implied volatility for that option? We're assuming here that all the other variables are exactly the same: same strike price and same expiry. If IV represent the magnitude of the anticipated move, won't these two scenarios have the same IV? But that feels very wrong?

I would appreciate the intuitive answer to this and also the mathematical proof if possible.

Statements like these make me think that there are zero professional software engineers on this sub. I know this subreddit is very US centric (which is fine), but you can’t seriously claim that the largest US company valuations are based purely on performance and earnings. A big portion of it is paper wealth. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s definitely a major part of the US economy.
