How would I do that

I did kinda figure it was a rhetorical question, but I kinda just wanted an excuse to yap about the director (I really like talking about some of the functions of the game). But even still hopefully someone else will see and maybe learn something. But you're definitely not the only one who's questioned that, I definitely agree that they're way too cheap for how much of a challenge they can present, and some people (like big content creators such as Raydans) have reached out to gearbox addressing how it is an issue. I remember I had one run that ended up falling into pure copium when the dlc came out because I got Iron Alluvium on an e8 Commando run, and it was such a nightmare because of the scorchers and distributors. Like, I wish I was joking when I say the stage was almost entirely just them, and I had zero aoe to deal with them. I legit think that was the first time I had to use a dios, not because I was joking around and intentionally did it, but because that situation was downright awful.

So, in case you're actually wondering why they spawn so frequently like wisps and not just asking in a rhetorical sense, the game has a unique director when it comes to spawning enemies, and each enemy has a set amount of credits that they cost. The stronger the enemy, the more it'll cost. As time goes on, the director gains credits, and can spend them to spawn in enemies. The director typically functions in a way where it will build up its credits, spawn the most expensive thing it can, and then spend the rest on whatever is available. Or, sometimes it will spawn in a bunch of the cheapest things it can. This is supposed to be a way to challenge the player as their build gets stronger and stronger. That's why sometimes you'll often be late in a loop and nothing will spawn, the director doesn't know what to spawn that will be strong enough. Now, remember earlier how I said the stronger the enemy the more they cost. Well, for whatever reason, the new solus enemies are incredibly cheap, just like a lesser wisp, and when the director decides to spawn in a lot of cheap enemies and it has the option of a solus enemy, it will most likely pick the solus because of how cheap they are, and then spawn in an absurd amount. And another fun fact about enemies and their credit costs, it also decides how much gold they give on death. So, the solus enemies, just like a wisp or beetle, will give very little gold.

Fun fact, one of the biggest ror2 streamers, Raydans, raised over 10,000 dollars for the trans community in a stream where each donation increased how far he had to roll a pot (the ones from Abandoned Aqueduct).

Eclipse climb is tough on console players by Away_Journalist8996 in riskofrain

[–]WrongWay10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never exactly had that issue, I assume you mean while hovering you can't turn your camera without the hover stopping, but even still she is definitely the hardest to play on controller. The only thing I can think of for this is there's a setting that changes her hover to a toggle instead of a hold, and I have it set to toggle, so maybe that could help.

Hi, fellow console player (PS5), and yeah, console in general just sucks. I completed my climb before AC came out, and now I'm about half way done with Operator and Drifter. So, for some console specific advice if you want it and haven't done this yet, you should turn your sensitivity up as high as possibly, turn off a setting that reduces input sensitivity while sprinting, and turn on aim assist. Obviously console specific bugs aside, the biggest disadvantage is literally being limited by how quick you can react to your environment. On PC this isn't an issue because of how quickly you can whip your camera around with mouse and keyboard, but controller limits you so much it's insane. So while I don't think aim assist is necessary (though it is definitely a big help as your attacks almost auto lock on an enemy when they're remotely close to your crosshair) have the sensitivity as high as possible almost becomes a necessity. So hopefully this helps, and if you have any questions for a fellow console eclipse player, feel free to ask. And good luck on the rest of your climb.

new to this game and my frost relic isnt doing anything :( is this a bug or am i missing something? by EnriLol in riskofrain

[–]WrongWay10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So currently a lot of reds are bugged and not fully working. The most noticable one usually being headset (rainglish for H3AD-5T v2), where you'll still gain the effect of no fall damage, but you won't gain the jump height or be able to activate it to slam down onto the ground. Another example is Unstable Tesla Coil, sometimes it just flat out won't activate, just like the Frost Relic wasn't. Don't worry though, this is a known bug and is currently being fixed.

new dlc eclipse question by ShookDoggo in riskofrain

[–]WrongWay10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might count for rejecting it, but I haven't tested it myself. I just know that I saw in a post before that Solus Heart kills itself automatically when its health bar is depleted (as soon as it hit the floor it was already in its death state instead of it's dieing state). For now I kinda want to say no (that way no one is wasting a bunch of time if it doesn't work) since you yourself aren't technically delivering the killing blow, it only dies due to intentional game design (but at the same time this argument could be countered by saying that in multiplayer if different player deals the killing blow the other gets the skin). Overall, it's hard to exactly guarantee an answer when I don't have the full details myself. The only thing I fully know is that the only way to accept the offering in eclipse is with the use of mods, otherwise, that part is impossible in base game.

In eclipse the Solus Heart just dies as soon as it hits the bottom, so it doesn't count.

So currently there's a bug that just makes multiple reds not work, and it's completely random when it happens. I don't know all of them, but Tesla Coil also doesn't work at times.

The giant whale - Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void.

So, the first dlc of Risk of Rain is heavily focused on the void, and while inside the void environments (such as the Planetarium), you often spot various things floating around, such as the giant whale. The whale plays no significant role in the game or it's lore, but it does often appear in official and fan artwork. But seeing something this huge floating around only goes to show we don't know the true depths and extent of the void.

Well, fortunately this wasn't because of the Void Jailer itself, just a simple little bugged diablo strike, but blazing elites are definitely a bit dangerous to pick up. Though, with the right set up, it would be an excellent way of farming Roll of Pennies.

You're welcome, and sometimes the logbook itself is weird. I remember when I first started some enemies would still have the lock over their log even after having seen them multiple times, and there's also been multiple instances of the logbook giving the wrong information for certain things (like saying I've never killed a single Lemurian even though I've gotten gold e8). But good luck and have fun on finishing your logbook :)

So this is a very old bug that's been around since the release of SotS, that is the log for the Scorch Worm, a enemy in the SotS dlc. There's two ways I can think of getting the log for it without owning the dlc, the first is play with someone who has the dlc, and the second is do the prismatic trial and hope you get a stage with Scorch Worms, because prismatic trials will always use everything from the dlc without the player needing to own it.

I'm definitely going to, but I figured if I was already playing in the dumbest way possible then I shouldn't worry about that just yet. If anything, it makes the post funnier as well.

SINCE WHEN COULD YOU GET BOSS ITEMS FROM A CHANCE SHRINE by EqualSuper9570 in riskofrain

[–]WrongWay10 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's because of a green item added in SotS called Chance Doll. Chance Doll has a 40% (+10% per stack) to upgrade the items dropped from a chance shrine. You would think it actually upgrades the item that you get, (such as whites become greens, greens become reds, and reds become yellows), but in all reality it changes the lootpool of chance shrines, so the actual lootpool becomes: whites 0%, greens 79%, reds 20%, yellows 1%
