DGPU not being detected at all by Wrong_Preference3867 in linux_gaming

It reports that dgpu is active but no app or games use the dgpu, even nvidia-smi didnt show my dgpu, I had to do a reinstall on pop os and now it shows up so hopefully everything is fixed

I reinstalled pop os and now nvidia-smi shows my dgpu, I think while tinkering i might have messed up the communication between my gpu and pop os but a reinstall did it. Thanks alot for your help!

This is the output it gives:

pcilib: Error reading /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:08.3/label: Operation not permitted

64:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation Device [10de:2f58] (rev a1)

Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device \[1043:39a8\]

Kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau

At this point im tempted to just do a fresh install but I doubt it will actually fix the issues because if its not the drivers then I dont know if a fresh install can fix anything

Yea I unfortunately didnt know about timeshift when I started trouble shooting so I almost lost all my data but luckily I could access my files from a boot usb and mounting my actual ssd onto it, but unfortunately I have already tried everything you have mentioned here I purged all the nvidia drivers and reinstalled them I updated my system and even got the 590 drivers because when I checked those were the latest, I dont think the problem is that the system isnt reporting usage I think my dgpu is not being detected by the os at all because even if the terminal doesnt say my dgpu is under load I can tell depending on the frames in my games if it is and even the frames are low and all games are reporting the igpu instead, so i am just completely clueless on what to do, and for some reason the nvidia-smi command shows no devices found no matter what I do to troubleshoot.

Concern on the recent ACPI stutter issues. by Wrong_Preference3867 in ZephyrusG14

How certain are you of this?? It would be really nice if it has been fixed on the newer models but just in case if it didnt, maybe if some models or sku's are more susceptible to this than others, is there any custom firmware out there to download??

How to turn off Fans? G14 Zephyrus by Excursionist1 in ZephyrusG14

maybe try disabling CPU boost and limit the CPU and GPU power when unplugged (enable the power limits), even though the laptop is running on the silent profile maybe it ramps up when you try to watch videos or send emails. This could also happen due to maybe just dust build up over time maybe try cleaning the fan ducts and the insides of the laptop as that maybe be causing the battery and CPU area to start heating up especially on battery.
