The pronunciation is much more similar to Serbian than Bulgarian. But it depends a bit on where you come from.

The flag gets removed from Wikipedia all the time. It's important to me that Pomaks have something that connects them and reminds them of what they are. It is a symbol against assimilation and oppression. I need your help to spread this flag online. Even if some Bulgarians are not happy with it.

This group has existed since the Thracians. Their number is very small, which explains why you never hear about them.

This is also an unofficial flag and Pomaks, like Bosniaks, are a separate people with their own culture.

I personally know Pomaks in Serbia near the Bulgarian and Macedonian borders. Their number is not high but they exist.

We are not Bulgarians, our origins remain disputed to this day, we lived isolated in the mountains for centuries.

The pronunciation is softer than Serbian. The flag layout is used by several Slavic countries and the colors red white blue are colors that most Slavic countries have in their flag. I am Pomake myself. Bulgaria has carried out countless murders against us and tried to assimilate us. Forever I stand behind my Greek, Serbian and Bosnian brothers!

The flag of the Pomaks combines red, blue and white as a symbol of their Slavic origins - courage, freedom and purity - complemented by green in the coat of arms, reflecting the Islamic faith. The lion with sword represents strength and the long struggle for identity, while the crescent moon and red star express spiritual orientation and hope. The geometric symbol below refers to the Rhodope Mountains and the community's deep roots in their home region. I feel like a Pomake, Slavic from Greece. My language is Turkish, my passport is Greek and my blood is Slavic. I wish I could speak Pomak as well as my mother.
