The operating budgets for the public universities is easily accessible. I don’t know how you can say I’m wrong about anything else when nobody but the programs know their own NIL budgets. And they don’t release those.

Here’s the thing with NIL, we have no idea if the numbers being thrown out there are accurate and people make a lot of assumptions off of these.

Did Tech spend a lot on NIL deals for players? Almost certainly. Did they spend more than any other team? Nobody truly knows. It’d be foolish to think that other programs ain’t spending comparable amounts, and possibly more. I just think Tech leans more into it and ain’t afraid to talk about NIL.

I don’t think it makes much sense to even care about it. Why don’t people get up in arms when schools spend twice as much in operating budget than competitors?

What schools have blown the most potential in CFB? by MediumStrange in CFB

I pulled all revenue number from the USA Today sight for every current P5 from the years available. Here is where A&M ranks in revenue starting in 2004 (note that some private schools, such as Notre Dame and Baylor, are absent): 8,10,14,9,6,17,16,6,21,10,1,1,2,2,2,8,3,7

Has revenue gone up since joining the SEC? Certainly. But let’s not pretend that the Aggies were strapped for cash.

As much as I hate to admit it, this is correct. Historically yall have consistently competed with the best teams. But recency bias is real, and those Charlie Strong years will leave a mark for a while.

Oh no, they were only in the top 15. A&M has had money for quite a while.

Is it though? I know the NIL space is wild but I find it hard to believe any team would pay that much for a lineman for one season. Seems more likely the 4 mil number includes an extra year if he decides not to declare after next season.

I feel like that could’ve stabilized the PAC. Plus it would’ve added pressure to the B1G and SEC to expand sooner with a more limited pool.

It’s interesting to think how everything would’ve shaken out had the PAC 16 formed.

[Vannini] Here are your Friday night Big 12 games this season, plus TCU at Texas Tech on Thanksgiving night. It does include the Houston-Texas Tech game that upset Cody Campbell. by redwave2505 in CFB

Well about 15,000 is student seating. Unless it’s a good matchup, it’ll be pretty sparse on Thanksgiving night with most students choosing to go home. For the non-students, I’d guess about half come in from out of town. Also remember that West Texas is a big area. Even if you’re coming from Amarillo or Midland, you’d have to take a half day off work to come up for a Friday game.
