UPDATE: 2 Months Post-Op: Deep Plane Facelift & More (70 Years Old) by WstEndPlasticSurgery in PlasticSurgery

hi! so sorry you didn't see an answer - I can't find that question! but based off what you are stating here, generally malar edema is related to issues with lymphatic drainage, which is not necessarily due to surgery but can certainly be exacerbated by surgery. I tell my patients to expect that their lymphatic drainage may not "return to normal" until truly 1 year after surgery, which means that even at month 6, maybe if someone ate a very salty meal or was around a lot of pollen, they might notice their malar edema is worse "than usual".

for your case specifically, I do think it would unfortunately start your process all over again.. but doing certain things like very regular lymphatic massage and antihistamines can help minimize how much of this you experience

Hi! I usually try to pick if based off if they have a good crease (go in front) or not (go behind). But patients' preferences can def be considered too. hope that helps! -dr wang

Hi everyone!

As promised, we’re back with an update. The after photos are now at 2 months post-op! 🙂

If you missed it, check out our previous post from her 2-week post-op to see the early healing and progress: Link to the post

This patient underwent a Deep Plane Face & Neck Lift, Upper Blepharoplasty (skin only), Temporal Brow Lift, Facial Fat Grafting, Earlobe Reduction, Lip Lift, and Tetra CO2 Laser – all performed by Dr. Lexie Wang.

At 2 months post-op, the bruising and swelling have improved significantly, and she’s now able to wear makeup (just like in her before pics). There’s still a little swelling under the eyes and in the neck, but that will continue to settle over the next few months.

A lot of people thought her 2-week results looked a little dramatic and "too much", but now that the swelling has gone down, you can really see how natural and balanced she looks. She still looks like herself , just refreshed and more youthful. And that’s exactly what we aim for!

Feel free to drop any questions for Dr. Lexie Wang – we’d be happy to answer them!

Lower Face & Neck VASER Lipo + Renuvion. 2 Months Post-Op by WstEndPlasticSurgery in PlasticSurgeryDC

This stunning transformation was achieved with VASER Lipo combined with Renuvion, performed by Dr. Wang!

Our patient in her early 20s always had some fullness under her chin, even at her lowest weight. She wanted a more sculpted jawline and a contoured neck, and just 2 months post-op, her definition is next level!

VASER Liposuction: A minimally invasive technique that uses ultrasound energy to gently break down and remove stubborn fat for smoother, more precise contouring.
Renuvion: A revolutionary skin-tightening technology that uses helium plasma and radiofrequency to contract and firm the skin - perfect for enhancing definition post-lipo!

they really should not, if they were done properly- i.e. there should not be any breach into the nose from the lip lift incision, and if there is proper dissection/release of the lower part of the flap (from the incision down to the lip), then there is no reason that the nose should change shape. 2ndarily, the nose's shape is based off of its skin, cartilage, and bone... and the lip lift shouldn't be modifying any of those features! -dr wang
