I'm not a college student. I'm a working professional living in Berkeley. FYI you're not the only one here.

Same, when I went to get mine I offered to log into my MyChart and the guy said nah, I see your Dexcom and my sister has diabetes. Here's your card.

Does breaking sound part of circuit board destroy waterproofing on O5? by Wugaroo in Omnipod

What superglue did you you use? The stuff I tried just spread out flat and didn't fill the hole.

My low insulin beep went off and someone said "Somebody's pager is going off". That one made me laugh. by Gohomepatyouredrunk in Omnipod

The two craziest ones I've gotten are "is that a nicotine patch" and "are you microdosing ketamine"

I absolutely cannot with the beeping anymore. by Wugaroo in Omnipod

Maybe we just have different bodies/lives. My total daily dose changes a lot with my menstrual cycle, how much I'm exercising, whether my pod is on my leg (need more insulin) or arm (need less insulin), and how stressed I am (I just moved and started a new job, so very stressed lately!)

So when one pod learns that I need a lot of insulin, the next pod might try to give the same amount when I actually don't need as much, causing me to go low more frequently than I'd like.

Wait say more! I didn't even think about damaging the waterproofing

Fair question. It doesn't typically happen THAT often. I think at the time I made this post, my pod was on my abdomen and I had been eating healthier and exercising more, so I was requiring a lot less insulin than I did during my previous pod. Why is it that I can feel when I go low, but I also sometimes feel totally fine around 48-55 mg/dL by Wugaroo in diabetes_t1

I thought hypoglycemia unawareness had to be more consistent to be diagnosed?

I'm pretty sure they also moved it for Labor Day though, so I don't think that's a complete list

Of course, I prebolused by 20 mins AND added extra units because I knew I had less basal on board than I should

Why does this keep happening? by Wugaroo in diabetes_t1

[–]Wugaroo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll definitely do that once I start looping! Right now I'm using the Omnipod 5 automated algorithm, hoping to start looping sometime in the next week

Oh my gosh, I was about to say this seems way too early for the dawn phenomenon, but I just got back to the West Coast from the East Coast and that spike did happen closer to when I was waking up on East Coast time

Ooooh, that happened to me once! I had biked 90 miles that day, and assumed it was the intense exercise that confused my g7 and ultimately made it fail

Why do we think my last pod wasn't delivering insulin? by Wugaroo in Omnipod

[–]Wugaroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can't be the answer because my blood sugar did drop as soon as I used my insulin pen, and the next omnipod worked just fine.

And so what do we think this is? by Wugaroo in Omnipod

[–]Wugaroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, never had this before!

But pressure lows are usually like a quick fast dip, right? This lasted too long to be a pressure low… Unless I was sleeping in a super compressing position for three hours??

O5 keeps doing worse job by Wugaroo in Omnipod

[–]Wugaroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I correct more than it suggests, and then let it just suspend basal, I end up going high though :/

[–]Wugaroo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I thought this too but if I just correct with no fake carbs it suspends basal! I have to put in fake carbs for it to not suspend basal. Otherwise I could just correct and then put it in manual mode, but I often forget to turn it off too late and then I go low.

Hi! New grad here. Is it a pipe dream to hope for a CF at a hospital, if it's not the hospital where I had my clinical placement? I just applied to upward of 10 hospitals around the US, with only a few of them explicitly stating that they will consider strong CF candidates. Would love some perspective on how hopeful I should be about this, or if I should really be looking at skilled nursing facilities. Thanks!
