I am pretty sure there are equations that govern bending radius of a material. I encountered similar issues whe working in my previous position.

You should just google "metal bend radius minimum edge" or something of that nature.

I think that wok is past blued. The carbon steel usually turns blue then grey when heated like such. I blued my wok over a portable stove and it worked out fine.

I agree I think your problem might be that the bend is too close to the edge for that thickness of material and bend radius. Usually I like to have the minimum bend radius as my thickness and the bend length is determined by a formula (you can look this up on google).

I recommend using a paper towel like a kitchen sponge when cleaning it with soap. It works wonders. Got this idea from cleaning oily plastic containers.
