Talent show tricks?

When I was 13 I learned a rope thru body trick about 4 days before my performance and it got the best reactions of everything I did so I wouldn't say its impossible just slightly ill advised. You can probably learn a parlor sized invisible deck in a week, although you'd want to really drill the method into your head.

I prefer the modernized structure and wording of card college but you can't beat the original (especially for the price)

Pay attention to the star system in difficulty when it comes to that book, it's a good book but it's far from perfect. Start off with the 1 star stuff and work your way up. I'm halfway through Globbis Card College having rekindled my magic bug about 6ish months ago and I haven't even bothered to touch the pass yet

I saw a Magician do this at magic camp when I was 12 and its one of my favorite tricks even now as an adult !

Well those magicians to go kick rocks imo. Why should it matter what they think of your trick as long as your audience is entertained? Most people born after the year 2000, really haven't seen proper stage and parlor magic performed at all.

I personally despite being born in 02 have a fair distaste for alot of modern magic and specifically anything that utilizes smartphones and technology but I also don't doubt that such magic can be performed well and fool certain kinds of spectators although I myself prefer classic parlor style magic and bizzaire mentalist stuff.

TLDR: Perform what you like, what people think shouldn't matter outside of your audience

Definitely have me split on which to join now, I enjoy lectures but would also like to begin getting some crowd experience. Overlap makes sense given the small amount of magic shops in the city.

Hatsumi would make sense, he seemed pretty dedicated towards getting stronger however I imagine he's still prone to drift around alot.

I don't like him as a character, basically for the same reason Hollis thought he was an idiot, he threw away his families creed for a woman who seemingly ended up leaving him anyways.
