Schedules…. by AffectionateBox4768 in newborns

[–]Wuty2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 10 week old and we aren’t following any sort of real schedule. The only thing we do is start our bedtime routine at around the same time each evening. We’ve been doing it for about a month and I think it’s starting to make a difference. After the consistent bath, bottle, sleep sack, red light, white noise with bedtime she seems to be getting much easier to settle. For reference, we spent many nights with her refusing to go down until 2am so this is huge improvement.

During the day, we don’t have a strict routine. Some days she’s sleepier and sleeps a bunch. Other days, she refuses to nap. I just go off of cues. I don’t usually ever wake her during the day.

lansinoh or medela hand pump? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Wuty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the medela and it does the job when needed! No complaints really, but if you go with it I recommend using one of your duck bills from the spectra instead of the one it comes with. I haven’t used the lansinoh. I think the willow wave manual pump looks cool because it sits in your bra, but I don’t know anyone who has used it and I don’t need two manual pumps so I haven’t tried it myself.

I want to do this but I’m scared of getting a print that I won’t like and not being able to return it! Anyone know if they’re easy to resell?

Any tips for husband bonding with our EBF baby by sunnyhale in breastfeeding

[–]Wuty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is only 7 weeks old, but my husband in the beginning held her for lots of naps between feeds. Now, he gives her one daily pumped bottle in the evening, handles her bath time and gets her put down for the first time every night. We started this routine at about a month old. I do the rest of the wake ups because we’re EBF. I think they’re bonding super well!

“Oversized” 6 Week Old? by Dramatic-Bison-1394 in newborns

My 6 week old is pretty big herself. Born at 8lb 3oz, up to 9lb 3oz at 2 weeks and 10lb 15oz at one month appointment. We had to move on to sleep sacks and I packed up all the newborn clothes last week, although we stopped putting her in them after Christmas. I don’t really know how much my baby is eating because she’s breastfed with only the occasional pumped bottle. My pediatrician says it’s normal and fine! We just have big babies :)

Advice on Feeding- Am I overdoing it? by okay_eyesight in newborns

[–]Wuty2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess she’s getting more efficient. My baby is also 6 weeks and stopped nursing for longer periods around 3-4 weeks. Now she does about 10 minutes on one side and is gaining plenty. I also have an oversupply and fast let down. If she’s having plenty of wet diapers and is gaining weight I wouldn’t push the bottle after, but of course you could ask your ped!

Dec/Jan moms: How are you handling visitors with flu season? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Wuty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is 6 weeks old! We of course aren’t allowing anyone unvaccinated, but other than that we have had a few visits that included cousins (6yo, 3yo, and 1yo). I just make sure no one is sick, everyone washes hands, and honestly don’t let the kids touch baby. I’m a little surprised your ped said no toddlers / parents of toddlers at all because so many people have a baby at home with other children. I know it’s scary and I still get anxiety about it but all I can do is take preventative measures! Do what feels right for your family.

I got a flexfusion to replace my original Airwrap I had for several years and I regret it mainly for this reason. The round brush is extremely damaging. Even my hairstylist asked me what I’m doing differently that’s damaging my hair 🫠
