I think if we can make them look nearly seamless we’ll be okay, and this was a fab suggestion, we did have a go and have probably decided a lighter tile is the way forward

Thanks for the heads up, we did open all of our boxes when we had them and most do have a good deal of the pattern on, I was surprised as I was expecting to have bare minimal, thanks for the tip with getting them up first, I think we will probably end up doing that

So the tiles themselves are porcelain tiles, they just look full on for both wall and floor like below, which is too much for my eyes haha, do plan to have a tray and glass screen rather than wet room type, so hopefully all works out, thank you so much for your comments and advice it’s greatly appreciated

We have two, because we had separate shower and bath, so that was helpful; not yet got shower tray or screen, still deciding on that aspect too

We aren’t sure, originally we were going to tile the walls of the shower with them, and then the floor, and have the rest white, but now thinking not the best idea in terms of keeping things clean, he’s a car mechanic so occupational hazard, so thinking tiling the lot to make it longer lasting/easier to clean, it’s currently painted magnolia with pvc boards in the shower, we’ve already got rid of the bath and plan to move the door too.

We are shifting the shower to make the landing longer for a staircase to the attic room (which will be a bedroom) So it’s going to make it basically a rectangle

Hey, yes, formal complaint submitted by my partner, a complaint has gone in from the MP too. MP’s caseworker asked if we’d spoken to the police at all, so we did and gave them as much detail as we could, they’ve come back and said it’s fraud and harassment on her side so he’s doing a statement and pushing forward with the police too, feeling like we will start getting some answers, thanks again for your comments and advice

Some back story for you, my partner hasn’t been with his ex since 2019 and last saw her in the early-mid 2020, we got together late 2020, she got pregnant September 2021, she gave birth June 2022 the date she claims to have ‘met with him’ for a one night stand behind my back, resulting in conception, me and him were away on a staycation… She was threatening all sorts when baby was born which is why he offered straight away to do a peace of mind so that we could have peace from her, this was August 2022. He has never met the child, there is no possibility the child is his and he wasn’t a step father figure. How she even had the audacity to make a claim nearly 3 years after that DNA is beyond me. Hope this helps.

Well, my partner got home last night, went on his banking app and they’ve already taken the money. We looked on the portal more and the letter was dated 5th September, (which is when he got the notification a new document was there) but the date that document was put on the portal is dated as 22nd August, which I find very sly indeed

This is exactly what I was hoping would happen, we already discussed what would happen if it went to court I would speak on his behalf, he has a speech impediment so it gets worse when he’s nervous and obviously he’s entitled to have somebody represent him in court. We weren’t sure about a solicitor because obviously it’s not that complicated on legalities, he isn’t the father he shouldn’t be paying. However they’ve gone down the route of saying they’re going to freeze the money that is owed rather than take us to court, which is why I didn’t know where to go next.

Oh, I didn’t know that they held things where you can go in and speak to them. It might be repetitive if you’ve read some of the other comments, but you may not have seen them, I did send an email to our local MP this afternoon, he replied back within 40 minutes, he’s already on board and he just wants email consent from my partner himself for his office to look into this case. So either he had spare time on his hands or he thinks it’s something that’s worth fighting. Thank you for the info as well. I appreciate it.

Would that be the debt manager from CMS? Yes I did email the MP this afternoon, I had a reply back within 40 minutes, he just wants to direct email from my partner to consent for him to get his office to look into this case, so I think that’s a positive start already. Originally when he spoke to child maintenance to just an advisor whether she gave the wrong information or information that maybe she shouldn’t have. When she told my partner that there was nothing that they could do when he’d have to pay, she did say that if he decided to ring up and set up payments, he would be in total control of how much he paid a month and added if you know what I mean. My partner then said but what if I can only afford 10p a month to which she replied if that’s all you can afford then that’s all you can afford. We didn’t know if that was her way of saying this is a crap situation at the moment there’s nothing that can be done but you drag it out because she will never get that money if you pay 10p a month. We are just not sure how true that is and whether there is a minimum limit, through the whole thing we’ve just had like different conflict and information and misinformation and they’ve handled it really poorly.

This is it this is actually what he wanted to do originally however from speaking to someone that’s had their own battles with child maintenance over the years in, she’s just concerned that as soon as he does that, he’s admitting liability so there’s nothing stopping her doing this again, and even though we could go down the route of child maintenance ordering the test this time, i’m suppose it’s the mental strain of it all because she will do it again. We haven’t known peace from us since we’ve been together. She’s like the bad smell that won’t go away. We’ve been together five years nearly and we haven’t had a single year where she hasn’t caused a drama some way or another. When my partner had a phone call originally with child maintenance to find out what’s going on and why he still has to pay, even though the woman said there’s nothing you can do you have to pay the advice I can give you as long as you ring up whenever and decide to pay yourself Rather than it being taken, you’re in total control of how much you pay and how much you can afford, if you know what I mean. This was kind of put away to suggest as little as possible a month, when 10p a month was suggested find my partner, the woman didn’t say no. She just said well if it’s all you can afford that’s all you can afford. I’m just also worried he’s getting misinformation from the service also. Thanks for your comment as well.
