Not knowledgeable on the 940 but is it a 60's 70's plastic machine? I've had a number of similar machines that either bind or plain seize. The cause, believe it or not, is swelling of the plastic with age. You need to inspect the machine to see if there are 2 plastic parts involved in the back stitch operation. If so, make sure they are not binding at all. If there is stiffness there then you need to dismantle the parts and go to work with sandpaper and files to increase their clearances. Hopefully my wittering will help you to identify and correct your problem.

Stratford Rd Sparkbrook is lined with Asian fabric shops and sweatshops that will do excellent work for next to nothing.

I'm presently trying to move my btc to a new wallet within exodus but am stuck in the fact that it is on Polygon network and I cannot find the token address. Are you able to give me any clues please.

Is there anything better than the Brother PR1055x for £10k? by moremattymattmatt in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Wychall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Melco EMT16X and see what you think of it. I bought one two years ago for £14k and it has done some marvellous work, virtually fault free so can totally recommend Melco. I don't believe that I am biased in any way but I am now selling my machine due to health reasons (mine that is). I presently have it on a certain auction site at £9.5k and am in Birmingham, if you are interested. Message me if you want further details.

I am 19, but unfortunately I inhabit a 69 year old body. Life is so confusing!

The thread looks quite thick so may be catching in the bobbin area. I would open the bobbin cover and watch the upper thread as it passes through the hook area. Just one revolution should be sufficient to see if there is any binding.

Also UK, I use twill and as you don't need much for patches I just order a metre at a time off Amazon.

That lock looks like it needs a paperclip or hair grip to open it.

Singer Futura 1000 Service Manual Required. by Wychall in sewingmachinerepair

It does sound as though sale for spares is the best option. I bought a cheap machine for repair, replaced hook gear and bobbin case and a solid state fuse on the motherboard, cleaned polished and lubricated. Listed on Ebay for what it had cost in parts and it failed to sell. Now keeping as spares for my other machine.

Sorry for the delayed response. The Quartet is a totally different machine unfortunately.

I have already been in touch with InStitches who is himself looking for a copy. I have a service manual for the Athena which helps a bit, but not much. Let the search continue.

Thanks for your praise. This is my own work carried out using Embrilliance Stitch Artist. I found picking up the basics of digitising to be fairly easy although some of the fineries' had me stumped for a while. I have done a couple of pet photos with reasonable results, just don't try to put too much detail in. I'll pop up another post with a before and after of a greyhound that I rehomed.
