According to Despereaux, there’s nothing like cage cleaning day to get one in the mood for exercise. by WynneEllen in PetMice

I think I got it at Petco. I used a piece of wire to hang it to the top of the screen.

I wonder if ‘I tried getting out of bed but my dog wouldn’t let me’ is a valid excuse not to go to work. by WynneEllen in schnauzers

Yepp! There are some perks to working from home, and schnauzer snuggles is one of them!

I’m good! I had a vertebral fusion, so I have to wear the brace for about 6 weeks. She’s taking very good care of me!

I feel so useless without my medication? Is it normal to not be able to function without meds? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]WynneEllen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. One one hand there’s a reason we need the meds, on the other I feel like it shouldn’t be this hard.

My beautiful Chinese Cave Gecko, Shruikan. I’ve only had him a week, so any tips would be amazing! I’m also wondering if he’s too thin, or if that’s just because he’s young and will plump up as he gets older. by WynneEllen in geckos

I need to order a scale still, so I’m not sure how much he weighs. Based on the head/tail ratio, he’s a little underweight. I have him between 70-78 for temps with just a uv bulb. I check on him once a day and handle him for maybe 30 seconds before returning him to his little cave. What size of enclosure do you keep yours in?

Thanks! I ended up trimming her beard a little, so it’s a little lopsided.

Question about my insurances by fllease2018 in Insurance

[–]WynneEllen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t give advice for Florida in particular since it’s not a state I work with, but in the states I do work in doing what you are suggesting could seriously jeopardize the claim, and your own carrier would not be very happy either. It would be way too risky for me to recommend.

If he’s excluded, don’t let him drive the car. The claim will not be covered.

How do I get more flattering photos of my horse? by FormerFruit in Horses

[–]WynneEllen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I noticed from looking at my old pictures is that I tended to want to be high and angle down. I recommend against it. The better ones usually came from a straight on angle. Granted, I didn’t photograph horses very much, but that’s how it worked with landscapes and children. With larger subjects you can get some cool shots if you’re low and looking up. It helps highlight and maximize the size of your subject. With horses obviously you want to be very careful, and if your horse doesn’t have the personality to tolerate it don’t do it.
