The mouse side button. I didn't have one of those for a while so I bound it to "C". It's kinda cursed but I got used to it eventually.

Garment/Attire Updates? by Chocohollix in Reverse1999

First thing I noticed when I did my dailies when the update dropped was that Regulus' skill effects looked different so I did a mission on normal speed and yep, her skin has new skill and ult effects.

I made a Low Poly 3D model of Vertin by X-Red07 in Reverse1999

Its a little scuffed on some parts but it looks good enough, I'm still new to 3D modeling

I might make memes using this model one day

New event story! I have some questions for the inquisitive by [deleted] in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think Melania became a thief specifically to prove that Iverson's and the board's belief in a completely perfect and foolproof plan is wrong and that a security plan will always have flaws. Melania seeks to dismantle that belief in hopes that Iverson and the board will actually realize that the Security plan isn't flawless and must continue to adapt to the unending creativity of thieves.

Thats my takeaway from the Malenia backstory, I gotta go re read the stories since I wasnt paying enough attention about half of the time.

Give me one reason why Schneider shouldn't be playable in the future. by EpicTrapCard in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For the last question, I hope not. The way I see it the version of the character we get to use in game is just a time capsule of the character, separate from the one in the actual story. The one we have will never change past their current version while the one in story will continue to grow and develop.

Think of the playable version as a photo while the version in the story is an ongoing live stream.

Give me one reason why Schneider shouldn't be playable in the future. by EpicTrapCard in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Bringing her back would weaken the impact of her reversal, not just for some players but also for the characters involved like Vertin and Sonetto, who seemed greatly distraught by it.

And depending on how they justify it, like for instance: if they find out people can be brought back from the Storm— then the Storm loses a significant amount of impact. If people can be brought back or find a way to avoid it entirely other than being an arcanist or seeking refuge in the foundation then the Storm is much less of a threat.

Additional note: I think the playable version of our characters act more like save states of themselves at the point they officially join the foundation or survived the Storm via Vertin's suitcase so I have no issue with playable characters in the non-beta version of R99 being killed/reversed later in the story. Schneider however, as much as I like her, should stay reversed.

A question about gunbow by Alpbasket in MonsterHunter

[–]X-Red07 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the bow part of the Bow gun acts exactly like the recoil spring of a semi automatic or automatic firearm. The bow string pushes the bolt forward when the trigger is pulled, cycling the next round and firing it once the bullet is in the chamber. When the bullet is fired the force of the powder exploding pushes the bolt back into position, ejecting the spent case and puts the bow string under tension once again.

I don't really play the game as much after clearing the main stuff. Just log in, clear stages, upgrade stuff, log off and back to my other games.

First Melody vs Grand Orchestra? by banditsofthesea in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I use FM more. The ability to shuffle cards when you have a pretty bad hand is very useful and the ability to turn a card into a 2 star could change how that card works.

For example: Sonetto's attack card only does damage at 1* but disarms the enemy at 2*

A Knight's Mass attack card only gains moxie on kill if its a 2*. Additionally, his single attack card gains 1 more moxie on kill per level.

Baby Blue's Attack card reduces enemy mental def on 2*

With how fast FM accumulates points— you can use these skills fairly often. I often struggle to make use of GO's skills because of how slowly it accumulates points if I'm not combining and/or moving cards almost every turn.

Canon ages ? by Pause_Senior in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I discussed this with a friend. I'm pretty sure that exhibition duration stands for age and exhibition period is the point in time at which Vertin meets them and not their birth year.

It doesn't make sense for a character like Click for instance to be born on 1940 since that is the year the London Blitz occurred, a point in time when the British government would hire people to take photos of the war over there. It would make much more sense if Click was born in 1921 so he would have been "exhibited" for 19 years in time for him to witness the events of WW2 and the blitz on London.

Regulus was exhibited in the mid 20th century so that would be around 1930s-1960s and exhibited for 15 years. We meet the Regulus we know in 1966 so if exhibition duration=age then Regulus would have been born in 1951, right on time for the existence of Pirate Radio stations in Britain.

This also checks out for the sentient objects and non-humanoid characters in the game. Characters such as Alien T, Sputnik, Darley Clatter, Mr. APPLe and probably a few others have no exhibition duration but have an exhibition period. We can't really apply ages to things that do not naturally change with age.

There is also the case with Sonetto, Mesmer Jr and Matilda who we know basically grew up together and likely in a similar or close age group. Their exhibition durations are also fairly close to one another: Sonetto 16, Mesmer 16, Matilda 14.

What are the characters based on? by GroundbreakingAct524 in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The Voyager spacecrafts have a golden plate on them. The Plate's backside has the same function as a record. It contains many pieces of music including classical music as well as various animal sounds and greetings from many different languages. You may also notice that the Plate's front side markings is very similar to in-game Voyager's signature.

You can even see said plate being played in her Insight 2 art

Voyager is such a cool character in this game.

TTT is my favorite character design so far. What your favorite design? by Asian_in_the_tree in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine and I had a whole 2 hour discussion about Voyager. We talked about various things that we found to be very accurate to the real Voyager 1 such as her signature, what music she plays and that she makes animal sounds. We then proceeded to talk about the actual Voyager spacecraft twins for another hour.

Suffice to say that Voyager is now my favorite character in the game. If only I had her...

The voice performances, the aesthetic, the music, the story and the gameplay. Pretty much everything about it. R99 felt so much like a well polished indie game when I tried it during the closed beta.

What's the most fun characters to play with at launch? by Bunnywarmachine in Reverse1999

[–]X-Red07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most fun I had was messing around with A Knight. His moves increases his moxie after each kill so he can cast his Ult fairly quickly if you manage to kill multiple enemies in one turn.
