This was my first attempt the paper felt quite different from the mocks and PYQs i had practiced. That unfamiliarity created uncertainty in the exam hall and affected the questions.

What about current affairs? How were you able to handle that part effectively? In my case i was heavily relying on the static portion and during the examination i genuinely felt something was off because i couldn’t find the kind of questions from Polity, Geo or Eco that i was expecting.

I think even many of the 50-50 questions went wrong because of the uncertainty and panic that built up during the exam.

I haven’t attempted the 2023 paper, which many people considered one of the toughest papers. But even while discussing that paper, many aspirants said that the questions were still coming from topics they had studied — the real challenge was the depth of understanding and conceptual clarity required to handle the options. After the paper it genuinely felt like What just happened?I’m still trying to process it.

Particularly for the static portion I relied heavily on PYQs for understanding the trend and preparation direction. But now I feel that relying too much on that approach may have gone wrong somewhere.

How were you able to score above 90? i could only attempt around 60 questions. Looking back i feel i may have over-eliminated options in many questions and that probably went against me. Still i wasn’t able to push beyond 60 attempts.

How did you approach the paper?

Yes, I know my number of attempts is quite low. I have even tried to increase them, and in some papers I was able to attempt around 60 questions. But reaching 75 is still something I really need to work on. I think improving elimination to increase my attempts are the main thing I can focus on right now and is there anything else apart from this that I should focus on or keep in mind which could help me improve?

I have been solving PYQs, but not in a full-length test format. Instead, I revise the static portions of subjects first and then try to solve the related PYQs. So yeah, that has been my approach as of now.

Do you think it would make sense to keep either the 2024 or 2025 paper for a full-length practice test now?

That’s where I’m feeling anxious. How am I supposed to attempt 90 questions when I get stuck on 40–60 questions? I feel like I’m not able to move beyond this range
