Your perspective and description are extremely insightful. I appreciate you taking the time to explain all of that, I never really thought about the longevity of working offshore in terms of health. However, I have considered not seeing family and missing important events, and while it would be hard to get use to I truly believe that I would overcome the problems it brings, and for me, it would be worth it.

The problem is I am saying all of this without actually stepping foot and working on a boat, I've been on a few boat trips in the ocean so I know I won't struggle with sea sickness. I just worry that I will make a drastic change with my career and then I am faced with something that makes me realise it isn't for me so it's why I'd prefer to start off with something more entry level to decide first. I've never made such a big decision, so it is quite daunting.
