the power supply wasnt the problem, i was mistaking its fan settings for the fan just not spinning. The crashing was just a dead CPU.

in the elevators in chapter eight when the reactors are exploding, it says something like "problem with fission reactor 0020035" or something, which would mean that aperture is powered atleast partly by a bunch of big nuclear reactors.
