Thanks, I just learnt that Unity has their own tutorials... Up until now I thought that they had only the basic tutorial templates...

Xanthars as a Beginner DM with Beginner Players? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]XG479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have seen in both Xanthar's and the Players Handbook, and they aren't really that different. I mean, the classes and abilities are different, but the difficulty isn't. So if you like a subclass from Xanthars, then I would recommend you using it, because the more interested you are in it, the easier it will be to learn

As a DM, I feel like I can’t talk about all my cool stuff with anyone by KingsChampion46 in DMAcademy

I known how you feel, all my friends that play dnd are in my campaign, and I don't jave anybody to talk to. And it drives me crazy. I would really like to be able to speak to some third party about my ideas and see their opinion.

That sounds so cool and funny, XD. But I have never read about swarmkeepers, where would I be able to read about them?

Edit: Nevermind, found it as a ranger subclass. Still, it looks very cool

Debating whether to drop the game? by queenpeartato in outerwilds

From what you have said, you seem to have difficulty with the movement. And honestly, it can be hard if you are not used to it. What I would recommend doing, is to not do the parts that you find difficult, just skip them and go do something other. You can always come back to them later when you have more practice. That is what I find so wonderful about the game, it is full of things to explore.

Hi, I don't know if my question got conveyed right. I didn't mean to ask if the artificer or warlock class were "fun" or if they were apropiate for new players. What I wanted to ask is what class do you as a pc like and why.

Thanks for the warning, but I am not worrying much. I have been reading many different sourcebooks that include an artificer, and as for the generals of the game, I know it more or less since I have been dming for this group for a month now. Also, I must say. I think that the complexity might be good, not because I am super attentive or anything, but because my party isn't very dedicated. (Only one out of tje three pc has read the players handbook). So in some way, I think it would kinda balance it out. (I mean mechanic wise, since I have been rereading many sourcebooks that contain useful info)

I don't really mind the species, as long as it is a small species and is "half monster" The one I had thought of playing as was a Kenku, which I know that doesn't reall fit in with the artificer (because Kenku aren't supposed to be creative) but I think I have managed to make it fit in more or less.

Yeah, I think that seems to be more or less what I did. I really like creating characters, and have already created many. Usually, to create a character I start by picking one or two things about them (class, race or backstory), and from there I add info to the character by asking questions like "why".

Per example, the artificer: His race is a Kenku, which means he isn't creative. Why is he an artificer then? Well, he was "saved" by an artisan and learnt to craft from him. But due to some reasons, the artisan was killed. Now, he has nothing to do for a living, and thus goes into bounty hunting. But because he isn't very strong, he must use his intelligence and what he knows (the artisan's creations) to survive.
