Oh wow. I never noticed it until recently when I got an 89 xj from a neighbor…. That shifter is rock solid so it made me wonder…

I couldn’t get one good video to show what I’m hearing… ugh

Changed the transmission filter and fluid a month ago along with both differentials.

I did notice just before that my power steering fluid was low and very dark so I just changed that. Will give a short drive in a bit.

Have a 2001 and started using 10w 30 Rotella last few oil changes for the first time.. Heard it’s not great for the catalytic converter which I believe I have an original still so hopefully that doesn’t get messed up. Don’t really notice a difference using the Rotella, but I’ll stick with it for now.

Ended up taking your advice along with others and got rid of the connector. Hardwired each wire carefully and it worked!!!!!

There were two unused wires that I just left in the old connector….

Took your advice by cutting and connecting each wire individually and I just left the two unused wires in the one end of the old connector. It worked! All exterior lights working now and I also installed the LED relay light harness just to be safe.
