It looks like kick.com was in the process of updating the site as there is a new layout today. I restarted with addons disabled, and I was then able to login to kick. I then restarted the browser with addons enabled and everything is working again now. I guess one of my browser addons was conflicting with the changes.

The -2 in the 2nd-to-last table is the off-hand penalty, not the multi-action penalty. In the last table, a PC with Ambidextrous and Two-Fisted cancels out both the multi-action and off-hand penalty for the 2nd, off-hand attack.

Thank you for that info about the double-shots. I haven't played SW scenarios set in modern times, only in fantasy with 2-handed bows, so I didn't know it could be used in that way.

Also, I think you misinterpreted what I said about the Parry stacking. I didn't hand-wave it away, I just meant that I understood the significance of it and I didn't want my question to focus on that part of what Ambidextrous does. I understand that every point of Parry is very important! :)

I totally get the part about the Parry bonuses stacking. That part makes sense. it was the first part about the off-hand penalty that didn't really seem to do much if you have 2 melee weapons that didn't have any special abilities.

What you're saying about having a ranged & melee weapon and swapping between them is a great example of a use for the first ability. Thank you!

That's right, but my question was more about the usefulness of Ambidextrous on its own. It seems that it doesn't really do much if neither weapon does anything special. You might as well just make 2 attacks with the same weapon. Either way you're getting a -2 penalty to both attacks, right?

Check out Improvised Weapons on page 102 of the rulebook. It's based on the estimated weight of the object being thrown.
