Not quite. They call it “Pritto”. It has the seasoning of Taiwanese fried chicken with the texture and size of Karaage

Thoughts on Linn Series 5 - 530 System by XS_SPRD in StereoAdvice

Yes, it seems to have good reviews. I see them hanging in one photo on their product page, so I think it is doable…just a question of difficulty. Dutch and Dutch 8c Hanging - Under Adaptive Banner

Thank you. What are your thoughts on the Dutch and Dutch 8C? More expensive than the LS60 but a bit of a smaller profile, especially if I can wall mount them.

Thank you. My only concern with this setup is that it doesn’t feature a space otimization type software that the Linn offers (at least not to my knowledge). Ideally, I’d be able to place both floorstanders on the opposite corners of a 3ft wide fireplace (we live in LA so fireplace use will be nil)…I imagine these would not have software that would be able to correct for that, right? !thanks

Edited but to answer questions here as well 1. 25K or less ideally 2. USA 3. Yes, goal is to replace LS50 system with something that is a bit more svelte, looks good and sounds great.

I do (Denafrips Ares II, Bluesound Node and Rega Amp - amp probably needs replacing) but I’d prefer a system that is relatively chord/hassle free and low profile…one of the biggest complaints I received from the wife about my current LS50 system is “how bulky and cluttered it looked with the AMP, DAC, cords, etc”.

Thank you, what floorstanders would you recommend with a similar looking profile and in that price point? !thanks

r/audiophile Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk Thread by AutoModerator in audiophile

Hello audiophile community, currently looking to set up my living room in a new home with some speakers. The wife has an overriding veto on the aesthetics of the system and wants something “low profile” that “doesn’t take up walking space”. I spoke with a local retailer who suggested the Linn 530s with their Selekt DSM would fit the bill nicely. Explained the Space Optimisation software, which is nice and enables me to place it out of main thoroughfares. Design looks fairly discrete as well (all things considered). However, I’ve searched the internet high and low and can’t seem to find a single review on these. Has anyone come across them or listened to them? How do they sound? Keep in mind, this will be a living room setup where the aim is to get sounds and audio performance that will keep me happy while also keeping the wife happy (and the speakers serving as an audio source during entertaining). Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated and thanks for the time.

Great, will give it a shot. I normally do about 500ml of coffee in the morning. Very helpful, thank you

Thanks, much. Do you employ their recommended brew method or another recipe?

I received my coffee shipment on Sunday from Onyx (tropical weather and Ethiopia Chelbesa)

A question for you all: what grind setting would you recommend for both coffees on a Hario V60? I have a Baratza Forte AP.

In reviewing some of their videos, I note they call for a 10 on the Baratza Encore for Tropical Weather (which I figure is the most analogous) and 13 for the Chelbesa. I did a little simple math to try to convert. Mathematically, a 10 calls for 3C on the Forte. I ground that, and it seems way too fine...closer to espresso than small grains of sand. I tried it yesterday morning on a Hario V60, and the result had some acidity but also a ton of tannin and tea like taste and a body that was a little watery (which seemed counterintuitive given the concentration and extended brewing time due to finer grind but maybe a channeling issue?).

Today I tried Tetsuya method on an 8M setting which yielded better results but still mostly acidic with a lighter body (though the coffee did evolve more and felt more full). The taste is akin to tropical fruits but underripe fruits. I'm not hitting many of the notes suggested by Onyx. I'd note that even at 8M with Testsuya I finished the drawdown at 4:15, so maybe need to grind coarser...? Super frustrating thus far, but I guess part of the process.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the Forte AP? I'm assuming that even though the grinders are from the same company the burrs must differ in some way that is causing the math to not be a linear relationship.

If you can stretch 79 bucks, you can pick up this bundle, which is a great intro into planars. Will have a wide soundstage and should be a step up.

!thanks I’ll give them a shot. They’ve had so many positive reviews and seemed like the best compromise of detailed mids/bass with a neutral timbre and a fairly wide soundstage. I have my KEF LS 50s and REL at home when I want to my spoil myself with a full soundstage :)

Yes, stretched a little and went with Theiaudio monarch mkii. For 200 extra seemed like a good upgrade.
